This message has always been at the core of BTS. It’s been there since the very beginning, and with their decision not to submit to the Grammys, they proved they have never betrayed their beliefs about music.

People who say BTS “sold out to the West,” “only make commercial music,” or “refused the Grammys just for press attention” simply have no idea who BTS are. They never understood them in the first place.

Yes, BTS wanted recognition. Yes, they wanted that damn trophy. But not at that cost. It takes incredible courage to walk away from your dream. They did it for themselves and for the values they’ve believed in since debut.

Real strength belongs to those who stay true to their principles, even if it means giving up something they’ve wanted for years.

BTS say, “they don’t know ’bout us.”

I’m telling you: get to know them.

@Ghosting8787 This really pissed me off too. Changmin had a solo tour last year. Its perfectly fine for Yunho to have a solo tour as well. These hosts dont do their research nor educate themselves about the artists they bring onto their shows. Theyre just come prepared to make "jokes". 🙄

🐥 14 yrs ago, i released my 1st solo album 'tarantallegra' and hit a career high. the 2nd, 3rd and 4th albums after that gradually fell.. lol this album comes 10 yrs after that so i was really worried. since it was the 1st album in 10 yrs after a gradual decline i wondered, 'will people listen to it?' these worries were plaguing me when i decided 'let's make an album' 1 yr ago.

the timing of a new “asian pop” category while a major asian act is having one of the most successful albums globally really exposes the problem: it’s segregation and not inclusion.

when non western artists are still underrepresented in major categories, it doesn’t feel like recognition for the asian music market, but containment. they deserve to win, but they cannot, so let’s give them a candy that excludes them a bit further. at least it looks pretty, right?
