Once I wrote about the Latina pay gap for a publication and later found out I was paid $100 less than the publication usually pays for opinion pieces. They paid me, a Latina, less than they pay my white peers, for an article about how Latinas make less than white people.

I love that the English word “soul” (alma in Spanish) and the Spanish word “sol” (sun in English) sound the same. Your soul is your light source. ☀️
