Snow is coming to Middle Tennessee on Friday, with potentially 4 to 6 inches of accumulation. And streets are likely to be icy for days. WPLN's @mirikramer reports Metro has an interactive map that shows what roads will get cleared first. https://t.co/YhQ21GJw5M
A 13-year-old with autism and an intellectual disability told a teacher his backpack would blow up, worried someone would confiscate his favorite stuffed bunny.
Police arrested him and charged him with a felony. My latest with @PaigePfleger https://t.co/dFrXSJ3mxF
ProPublica's @eisingerj to his staff: "We face the biggest test of our professional lives. Now we get to see if we really meant it when we said we will hold power to account. Will we do so when our subjects have true power on their side and a willingness to use it? We may be harassed. We may be sued. We may be threatened with violence. We may be ignored. Are we just sunshine journalists or are we ready?" https://t.co/1ZKacavcNK
Here at Tennessee Sen: Marsha Blackburn’s watch party as she makes her victory speech.
Blackburn said she appreciated her opponent, Gloria Johnson, calling to concede since her last opponent did not.
One child held up a battery and called it a bomb. Another said he was going to nuke the school. Both were arrested under a Tennessee law.
And law enforcement didn't need to determine if their threats were credible before handcuffing kids: https://t.co/nBcRmCBnxh @AliyyaSwaby
This is wild. So we can’t pass red flag laws. We can’t pass safe storage. We can’t ask adults to do much of anything with their guns because 2A. But we can arrest kids at will, some as young as 7. We can handcuff them. We can take them to jail. All for uttering the word “yes.”
Just on a personal note, I hope I get the chance to work with @PaigePfleger, @AliyyaSwaby and @mshalhoup on many more stories. Editing this one felt urgent, important and crucial to our state.
During the first six weeks of this school year in Hamilton County, police arrested 18 students. School officials labeled most of the threats as “low level” with “no evidence of motive.”

Over the last few months, @AliyyaSwaby and I have been investigating a TN law that makes threats of mass violence at school a felony, even for kids. We've found the law casts a wide net, entangling children in the justice system over rumors and jokes: https://t.co/nBcRmCBnxh 🧵
“Why fight so hard to keep me out of a voting poll?” Disenfranchised Tennesseans are challenging a state rule preventing them from regaining the right to vote.
With Election Day a week away, a Nashville judge will soon decide if they can cast a ballot.

This year's transit referendum in Nashville is one of the most interesting things on our ballot... and one of the most complex.
We collected a ton of @cindy_abrams's reporting into this special episode of the NashVillager podcast from @WPLN. Listen now: https://t.co/JgBGlug4I7
Nashville! As you head to the polls, you might have questions about the transit referendum. But worry not! @cindy_abrams + @WPLN has you covered: https://t.co/qqjtwiCmKI
Today’s the first day of early voting in Tennessee, and the Green Hills polling place in Nashville is PACKED — people have taken to parking off the main road.
A Smoking Gun? This X1.8-flare had lots of radio energy at very high frequencies, easily beyond the 12 GHz range. This is where Starlink operates. A look at Down Detector statistics shows a suspiciously large number of outage reports right when the flare hits.
We flew over Hurricane Milton about 90 minutes ago. Here is the view out the Dragon Endeavour window. Expect lots of images from this window as this is where I’m sleeping while we wait to undock and return to Earth.
Timelapse coming in a separate post.
