Here are some captions from reports based on motions I’ve moved at city council to provide the federal government information about what’s at stake with Doug Ford’s push to bring jets to Toronto’s waterfront.
I’m very pleased to say that the many conversations I’ve had with Toronto MPs have been very positive and productive. I believe the Carney government will be committed to a thoughtful and evidence-based review of any plan for our waterfront that must consider the livability of our neighbourhoods, housing targets, transportation needs, and our health and the natural environment.
And, despite Ford’s bombastic behavior, I’m encouraged that the Prime Minister will ensure that the City of Toronto and its residents are treated like partners and recognizes that consequential decisions have real consequences.
We are making progress.
NEW: the Ford govt has moved to cancel all summer meetings of the committee that vets PC appointments to provincial boards & agencies.
The move came after opposition MPPs questioned two nominees who had donated a combined $13K to the PCs.
Full story w/ @steve_cornwell to come.

Do you know what actually kills *billions* of birds every year?
🚨GLASS SKYSCRAPERS 🚨
GLASS SKYSCRAPERS LIKE TRUMP TOWER
The man is the most despicably malignant stupid hypocrite in the history of history.
Our Legislature has only sat for 29 days this year. Doug had just enough time to use tax dollars to buy a private jet, cut OSAP, vote against making groceries more affordable and #LydiasLaw#onpoli
🚨#BREAKING: Ontario Liberals demand a public inquiry into the Scarborough Subway Extension.
Why is the extension going to cost double the projected price? Why will it open 3 years late?
@fordnation and @PrabSarkaria owe the people of Scarborough answers.
#onpoli
The Ford government wants to send Ontarians the bill and skip the questions.
After a session dominated by luxury jets, secret payouts, and attacks on government transparency, they're ready to pack up and leave Queen's Park.
Ontarians deserve answers before the House rises.
#onpoli @JohnFraserOS
With the legislature rising today and not returning until the 27th, if the legislature sits for all of its remaining days in the normal calendar it will sit for a total of 53 days in all of 2026. That's abnormally low outside of an election year.
Complete horseshit. In 2018, Ford passed a bill to cut Toronto's Council in half in the middle of a municipal campaign. The bill was introduced on July 30, passed on August 14, and finalized by the Ontario Court of Appeal on September 19, for an election held on October 22.
The Ford government confirmed we won’t be back at Queen’s Park for 102 days.
While I’m excited to spend the summer in Nepean meeting with residents, businesses, and community groups, Ontarians deserve a government that’s willing to show up and do its job.
After calling a snap election to “Protect Ontario,” it’s hard to understand why this government is taking 5 months off while families continue to struggle with the cost of living, health care, and housing. #onpoli
A 102-day summer vacation after sitting for only 29 days this year. If you were trying to avoid questions about your own corruption, this is what you'd do.
In Doug Ford's Ontario, you need a credit card to see a doctor.
$80 per visit. $400 for a "membership."
For healthcare you already paid for with your taxes.
He's creating two classes of patients: those who can pay more and those who can't.
@davidpugliese HIMARS has a US "kill-switch". They can disable entirely or deny certain targets, just as they do with the Ukrainian HIMARS. https://t.co/WwHL9uALMP
#BREAKING - MPP’s are leaving on what will be an almost 5 month break. The Ford government says the legislature won’t return until October 28th, a 148 day summer break. MPP’s though will continue to work in their constituencies and in committees.
On another extended vacation from his previous vacay😳
If we fired this whole mess of provincial government, we could save millions.
It’s not like Ford’s working for us.
He worked 51 days last year. That’s it.
A six figure income to do what?! Steal, grift, lie? #onpoli
