In sick after being exposed to COVID 19 which leaves staff heavily susceptible to understaffing and risks. Children cancer operations etc are all being put on hold as all resources are being diverted to the COVID frontlines. Please for the sake of everyone.. STAY AT HOME!

But this brings me to my next (not so great) post. My MIL comes home exhausted today and she doesn’t complain too much given she’s just had a 14 hour shift. But she tells me that her unit is falling apart. It’s bad enough they are lacking in staff, now other staff are calling...

Grin on his face. Both my mother in law (MIL) and FIL are in their 60s and honestly.. they are the cutest most inspiring people I’ve ever met.

Then I went into the big lounge ( they have two living rooms) and found him sitting in the dark facing the entrance to the house. I asked him what he was doing and he replied “I’m waiting for Alicia (not her real name) to come home so I can open the door for her” with a little...

But this isn’t just about my mother in law. Today was her first day back to a day shift after a very long stint of night duty. When I wrapped up work at 8.30pm (she started at 6am) she still wasn’t home. I walked around the house but couldn’t find my father in law. (FIL).

There are times she works nights, and times she works days. Her average work hours are anywhere between 12-15 hours. 😭 yet she manages to come home , make us food and ensure we are all fed and taken care of.

My mother in law works as an NICU nurse at our local hospital. That means she works at the neonatal ICU unit which is a place for really tiny tiny sick babies. And when I say tiny I’m talking, imagine your baby the length of a large banana/carrot.

My boyfriend got his covid vaccine yesterday and I can tell you the most prominent side effect is the inability to shut up about getting the covid vaccine

Am looking into some research repository tools. I’ve used Dovetail previously but there were a few things I didn’t like. Currently exploring condens & @heyenjoyhq and haven’t quite figured out which is best. Anyone have opinions or other tools I’ve missed? #userresearch #ux #uxr
