@AustinChronicle One thing this story is missing is that the new Oak Springs building was designed for the Oak Springs' enrollment numbers, not the combined Oak Springs and Blackshear numbers. If that building was magically open tomorrow, it would not fit both student bodies!

@KellyWileyNews They rushed the process due to short term cost savings and construction contracts. AISD claims there's enough space at Oak Springs, but that's only true if they shrink Blackshear's current enrollment and ignore the new students who are returning to Rosewood courts.

@KellyWileyNews The plan to build Oak Springs was never intended to impact Blackshear. If it was, it would have been designed to hold our combined population. Rather than taking the time to design a school that will truly serve the next generation of students within the new combined boundary.

@CJVogel_OTF Hard disagree. And the game production felt like a greatest hits of all the great things this season. We got the mariachis, return of Hot to Go, the drones, orange smoke, and the spotlights. They did pull out all the stops and super great for STHs who were there all season.

I knew voters would be thermostatic. And that the last 4 years were difficult. But it’s humbling to realize what a blind spot I had to not notice how many people must’ve been silently struggling.
