I hope the kindy and Year 1 teachers have been enjoying having their class back at school this week, and best of luck to all the other primary teachers getting their clases back next week! It's been lovely to see so many children returning to my OOSH #acuedu_p
When students display signs of misbehaviour, teachers need to ask themselves ‘What need are they trying to meet?’ Fostering safe spaces can allow students to feel supported while providing them with the tools they need to succeed academically and emotionally #acuedu_p
I've been lucky enough to return to my OOSH job this week! Since my prac on Kindy I've picked up on some great ways to gain their attention using positive behaviour methods. You'd be surprised how well Kindy strategies work on all age groups- even year 6! #acuedu_p
Building a classroom culture of peer feedback encourages collaborative learning, which I believe is a fundamental component to my pedagogical practice. #ACUedu_p https://t.co/1pKECE8sZT
Designing a learning space! My ideal classroom would be bright and airy with lots of student work displays from a variety of KLAs. + A large space for games and flexible group learning, as well as desks for writing with good posture, and space for ICT use and resources. #acuedu_p
My last prac had 40 mins of Investigative Play for the Kindy's every day, it was amazing to see the cross curricular learning taking place in such a fun and engaging way. Play is so important in the infants years and can teach so much! #acuedu_p

'Profound' Prac thought- My Supervisor pointed out that 'enjoying working with kids' is something many people feel, its not all there is to teaching- has made me think alot about the professional reasons why I love teaching, which I can use in interviews #acuedu_p
I think the most rewarding thing about teaching Kindy on my last prac was seeing the students pass huge milestones- it's incredible how excited the teaching team gets when a child starts writing three sentences after struggling to write one just a few days ago! #acuedu_p
This lockdown has given me a lot of time to reflect on my previous teaching experiences, and I have realised how much I have grown as an educator. It's amazing to think that I wrote a word-by-word script for my first few lessons, and now I can engage and adapt as I go!

I was having a look over my cards from my first prac and am always amazed to see the comments talking about how much they enjoyed my graph lessons- who knew graphs could be fun! Interviewing their classmates for a graph topic of their choice was a highlight

I watch this Ted Talk whenever I start doubting myself and feel I need that extra boost. What an incredible woman. Her insights on how effective teacher/student relationships can ensure student success #acuedu_p
I’m not normally one to reflect publicly, although my uni supervisor said it was the best lesson plan he has received in 18yrs & all students were successful in completing their maths task on irregular areas. It feels like a double win today😄 #acuedu_p
Every teacher has their own personal view about homework, so this was an interesting read.
Interesting points included that valuable homework addressed the personal needs of a student, and was not just a repetitive task set for the whole class. #acuedu_p
