september, plant me where growth exists regardless of how unfamiliar the soil may feel. root me in patience no matter how uncomfortable the lack of movement may feel. let me see myself beyond everything temporary so i can appreciate everything meant to stay. widen my inner scope.
The Supreme Court's overnight ruling is an unprecedented assault on constitutional rights and requires an immediate response.
We will launch a whole-of-government effort to respond, looking at what steps we can take to ensure that Texans have access to safe and legal abortions.
School culture should not rest upon the shoulders of an individual, a program, or a theme. It involves everyone, is built over time, and evolves through reflection and feedback.
SCHOOL ADMINS:
We teachers are starting the school year broken.
I know you know this because we haven’t been quiet about it.
We do not need new software or literacy training this year. We don’t need to analyze data.
We just need time to plan, heal, and teach.
if you outgrow me, i’m genuinely happy for you because that means that we’ve learnt everything that we need to learn from our connection.

@tracyrenee70 Absolutely. I told Ss that their time was theirs - they could leave if they weren’t ready for the discussion, they could leave at any time during the discussion, they could just listen/not contribute, they could journal while I talked - whatever THEY needed.
Can’t stop thinking about that photo of a man strolling through the US Capitol with a Confederate flag over his shoulder the day after voters in Georgia elected the first Black and first Jewish person from the state to serve in the Senate. The metaphor was almost too on the nose.
@izzieteaches @ChristieNold tweeted yesterday that every person at the capitol was once in a classroom. It’s a sad truth, and yet as we know, those belief systems are learned...
As a teacher, I’m wondering how lawmakers feel as they’re told to hide under desks & stay away from doors for fear of violence. Asking for my students.
I’m so grateful to have spent time chatting with John of @careacter ✨ I learn so much about my role as an educator and human from CharacterStrong and feel fortunate to have been given this space. Take a listen!

@teachbk@WickedDecent I sent our the link to Little Free Library’s map search to students & parents. I’m encouraging them to go adventure for a new read + document sights & sounds. Their website has a search for anywhere in the US!
