@co2goldy When I was in highschool I had a male and a female friend come over to my house and my mom asked if they were dating eachother, I said no, she’s a lesbian… it’s been six years since then. The “male” friend transitioned three years ago and they’ve been together for two years now.
@nrmtenjoyer@_Shummy_ This is so real my mom is indigenous and my dad is Ukrainian and somehow I, their mixed baby, am lighter than my white father himself.
I like Quinten Reviews videos. They do actually have substance, a lot of people just don’t see that substance as worth discussing, which is fine, but some people do. It’s just the capitalist mind virus telling you everything needs to have broad appeal.
@cavesofsteel@magoggles@jsargument I was nonspeaking until ten and wasn’t diagnosed until 18 because the school I went to treated SPED kids horribly and it reminded my mom (indigenous) of residential schools, so she didn’t let me get diagnosed, which was the right call imo.
@fortnitebussy1 Also if I really like something I will try to pick out references or influences from other media and then read/watch that, fanfic isn’t the only way to continue engaging with a story after you’ve finished it.
@fortnitebussy1 I don’t read fanfiction but I Deep Read for like months to years… I feel like fanfic doesn’t necessarily engage in a deep reading, which is fine but it’s just a different way to enjoy the media.
@macropocalypse But I feel like that’s different cause it’s Their Guy causing the tension, it was like they were apologizing for their badly behaved dog pissing on our carpet. It’d be weirder if it didn’t involve them.
@macropocalypse I’m Canadian and last summer I worked at a gift shop visited by the Alaskan cruise line and so many Americans were like “are ya’ll scared of Trump?” And they were mostly genuinely very sweet and concerned but like Yeah ! We are ! 😀
