EIS General Secretary Andrea Bradley on BBC The Nine, 7 Feb. "Teachers don't wish to be on picket lines. They would much rather be in classrooms working with the children and young people they have dedicated their professional lives to." #PayAttention
We’re not secondaries, people need to stop trying to make primaries like mini-secondaries.
We need to embrace what’s great about primary education and shout about it.
Our job isn’t just to prepare children for the next step it’s way more important than that.
Never forget: READING FOR PLEASURE changes children's lives! Just 10 minutes a day can be enough to make them lifelong readers with all the benefits of #literacy. So never stop sharing books with kids. Never stop reading to them & helping them to read. Never stop changing lives.
Exclusive: Figures uncovered by @TesScotland reveal that the Scottish government expects just 50% of primary teachers - who carried out their probation last year - to be in work in Scottish state schools by next month
That’s down from 77% last year 🧵
Wishing a wonderful day to all our amazing @MorayHouse#UoEPGDEp graduates this morning as you start your Probation year! Take a moment today to appreciate where you are - we are SO proud of you all! Remember that #YourBestResourceIsEachOther
Made the decision that I'm sick of pencil pots on tables, so going to give communal resources ago this year with P5 - take what you need and return it when you're done 🌈
Looking forward to enjoying some time off over the next month. Thanks to everyone who has helped make my first year as Programme Director of the #UoEPGDE such a great experience. I'm looking forward to starting again in August, but this time as Lecturer in Teacher Education!!🍾
First coffee of my final day with P3 as an NQT. Reflecting back on what has been a joyful, challenging and fun year. I'm so grateful to all staff/students/families for making this year so amazing, can't wait to see everyone again in August & start in P5 ✨🥰
The worst part of being a student/NQT during COVID was being distanced from colleagues, so grateful to get out last night with everyone and celebrate our wonderful HT and wish him luck in his retirement ✨
Best of luck to this years cohort 🤩 I hope our advice was useful! If you have anymore questions feel free to give me a message & I can try my best to help you 😀
Loved getting together with @DrSueChapman to chat all things probation, and great to hear about everyone's different experiences! Hopefully it's useful to the #UoEPGDEp students who are getting ready for their next adventure!
