Hey @SouthwestAir my parents are stuck on the tarmac at @Fly_Nashville and they’re saying it’s because there’s bad weather at @DENAirport . They turned the plane off “to save gas”, and the captain said he’ll give an update in 30-35 minutes. What is going on? Flight #WN606
Was supposed to leave LaGuardia at 2:45. Got delayed to 6:34. Been sitting since 6:15, and the captain just announced “LaGuardia is doing LaGuardia things” and that we’ll probably be sitting here for up to 45 minutes. Then the flight attendant is not letting anyone use the…
Hey @SouthwestAir it’s been brought to my attention that families are being separated with the new seating assignments. How do I ensure that I my minor children are seated with me for their supervision and safety?
@JetBlue how long does it take to receive a refund for a canceled flight? And how do I complete a form to receive reimbursement for hotel and travel that I was forced to pay for?
Travel pandemonium as major airports across America ground ALL flights
Flights at several major airports from New York to Washington DC have been stopped Monday, causing an air travel nightmare along the East Coast.
The Federal Aviation Administration initially announced a ground stop at John F Kennedy International Airport Monday afternoon due to severe thunderstorms in the area.
The ground stop also impacted Philadelphia International Airport and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, but the alert quickly spread to other major facilities along the East Coast.
While the ground stops are only expected to last into the early evening, the resulting domino effect in departure traffic is already sending wait times spiraling out of control.
The latest update from the FAA said that departure delays at JFK were now at two hours and 35 minutes and increasing as the storm moves in.
Flights in Washington were grounded until 5pm and the flights in Philadelphia are stuck until at least 6:30pm.
New Jersey's Newark Liberty Airport was later added to the weather alert, shutting down outgoing flights until 5:30pm ET.
Flights at George Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston were grounded until 6pm ET, but a reason was not given by the FAA Monday.
