Teachers are so hard on themselves. I've had so many conversations this week with colleagues who are doing incredible jobs and making a hugely positive impact, but agonising over a days absence or some minor failing. Sometimes we need to realise we're doing a great job! 🧡

Had a long hiatus from Twitter as I was feeling quite overwhelmed. Pressure of being a new HoD in 2020 was immense. Enjoying being back on twitter now and seeing teachers pulling together. Just heartbroken for my Y11s though. So many emotions!

You choose to be a teacher because you want to inspire children. You give up time, emotional energy on support, spend your own money on books/food for pupils.Working harder in lockdown. Do you get a thank you? No. Instead you're criticised for asking how 4 year olds can distance

Consciously exercising more than I have in years. Still putting on lockdown weight! I think I underestimated how much cardio I was doing on a regular basis...prancing around my classroom, dashing to the printer, doing my 100mph 'teacher walk' 😂
