Today the Hon Jane Ruth Aceng, Minister of Health joined the Uganda AIDS Commission Board in their quarterly meeting to provide strategic guidance in its Multisectoral Coordination role of the National HIV Response.
Uganda cannot afford to rely solely on foreign aid - sustainable solutions must be prioritized to safeguard lives and uphold the right to health for all.
The CSO strategizing meeting in response to the Trump administration’s executive orders highlighted the devastating impact of funding restrictions on Uganda’s SRHR and HIV response. Speakers emphasized the urgent need for government action as health facilities close, refills run out, and essential programs like BMTCT face setbacks - threatening to reverse years of progress.
