Interesting even the cops don’t support closing safe injection sites. What a weird week. DoFo supports CUPE National for asking @FredHahnCUPE to resign and the Chiefs of Police oppose Ford on drug strategies. Upside down world
Today in Gaza, the Ministry of Health declared the Gaza Strip a polio epidemic zone. This is beyond devastating news to anyone who cares about public and population health. This also affects neighbouring countries and is a major setback for the global polio eradication program.
@occupyuoft So much gratitude, respect and props to all that built, sustained and fought for the People's Circle for Palestine. Long live the student intifada!
Well… I guess it’s not Hamas who is refusing the deal after all. This is sad news for the hostages and their families and for the families of innocent Palestinians. Not to mention a slap in the face to @JoeBiden.
@oliviachow must publicly condemn this violent @TorontoPolice assault on peaceful protestors exercising their constitutional right and moral duty to protest against a genocide
The invasion on Rafah is continuing right now. Attacks on healthcare infrastructure are continuing right now.
Do everything you can to demand an end to this genocide right now.
day 26 of the People’s Circle.
at 8 am today, @UofT filed an injunction that will allow TPS to remove us by force.
the zionist state is burning people alive in Rafah. our protest is already 76 years too late. we refuse to leave now, not until all of our demands are met.
day 14 and we’re 2 weeks into the camp!! and we’re not going anywhere💪🏽💪🏽
admin went from threatening us to calling us hateful to actually discussing our demands with us. they’re understanding that UofT belongs to the students and community, not their corporate overlords.
Damning, damning indictment of CBC over its coverage of Israel-Palestine by a staffer who resigned in protest. There’s simply too much to quote so pls read yourselves, but I’m hearing similar examples from journalists in various newsrooms. https://t.co/NRBQysP3pS
Today is a shameful day in Ontario’s history.
MPP Sarah Jama (@SarahJama_ ) was asked to leave the legislature for wearing the #Palestinian keffiyah scarf.
The keffiyah is currently banned inside the #Ontario legislature.
This is anti-Palestinian racism. The keffiyah is a symbol of Palestinian cultural identity.
The ban must be lifted by Speaker Ted Arnott (@MPPArnottWHH) now.
When people protested Meghan Murphy, the head librarian said the Toronto Public Library was committed to the democratic value of free speech, whether or not it offended people. And now they’re banning poems by Palestinian academics and writers. The Palestinian exception yet again
📣 HAPPENING NOW: Toronto has been at the heart of Palestinian advocacy in North America and today is no different. We will keep showing up till our demands are met 🇵🇸
Why does Israel drop tear gas bombs on people as they are praying during the holy month of Ramadan? Why?
Why does Israel occupy Jerusalem? Why does Israel occupy the West Bank? Why?
End this state violence. End Israeli apartheid. End the illegal occupation of Palestine.
The racist and defamatory post by @MelissaLantsman is still up after 15 hours. This is the deputy leader of the opposition federal party in Canada’s House of Commons. This is unbecoming behaviour of a public servant. This is inciting hate and spreading misinformation. Shameful.
I am tired of trying to prove to the world that Palestinians are humans too. They are blowing up entire residential blocks killing countless women and children.
The world needs to see what Israel did to children in Gaza on New Year's Day. Don't stop talking about Gaza
