Here is a resource I used with my Y10s today. The aim was to develop their problem solving skills further. Once they got over the unfamiliarity of the resource, they worked well and got the majority of questions correct.
After going to the "Exam Insights Summer 2025" CPD session by Pearson Edexcel, it made me think of the below questions. We'll discuss this at the start of my workshop on "Moving 'em up to the next grade!" for #ALevelMaths#MathsConf39@LaSalleEd
Teaching rounding? How many take a box approach like the one below.
1) Identify place value
2) draw box around digit and value to the right
3) round up down to nearest 10
4) numbers left of box stay the same, right become 0
5) explain why it works
