A horrific strike by two Russian drones on a civilian vessel in neutral waters carrying corn and owned by Türkiye. Azerbaijani and Indian citizens were on board. As of now, unfortunately, we know that the ship’s captain was killed. My condolences. The fate of one other person is still being established. Eleven crew members were rescued, one of them injured.

Ukraine has repeatedly proposed concrete steps to de-escalate the situation and ensure security in the Black Sea. There have also been relevant proposals from third countries. But Russia consistently chooses terror and sinking civilian vessels instead of normal maritime navigation. Pressure is needed to restore global food security. And everyone who is genuinely interested in this must help.

I thank all our defenders who are working to send Russia’s sick war back to where it came from. This means thousands upon thousands of people in our defense industry working to ensure that Ukraine has the means to respond to every Russian strike. And thousands of warriors who find and hit Russian targets supporting the war every day.

And today, we also have important results from our deep strikes. A target in the Black Sea was hit, as was a site in the Oryol region used to launch and store attack drones. Sanctions were also applied to an oil facility in the Samara region and a supply depot for the occupiers in the Bryansk region.

These are exactly the kind of just responses we need right now. We will continue to deprive Russia of the ability to keep this war going.

Sweden has historically used the Russian transliteration “Kiev” in Swedish. Now, the Swedish government and government agencies are using the Ukrainian transliteration “Kyjiv.”

This matters because Ukraine has long promoted Ukrainian transliterations to counter the legacy of Russification and the erasure of Ukrainian identity.

Still waiting for our major commercial news outlets to follow suit. If the Swedish government can make the switch, so can our media.

A former Wagner fighter, now in Ukrainian captivity, said Russian mercenaries in Mali used captured Africans as live subjects for brutal "tactical medicine training."

In 2023-2024, Russian instructors deliberately maimed African prisoners, after which the mercenaries practiced stopping bleeding.

Explosives were strapped to one prisoner’s leg and detonated. Russians then practiced applying a tourniquet and bandaging the wound.

Another prisoner was shot in an artery near the armpit, while another was used for knife training - Russians practiced stabbing a person in the heart.

Another prisoner had his leg chopped off with an axe.

According to the Russian mercenary, all of the prisoners died during these "training exercises."

He was in Mali from September 2023 to April 2024. After returning to Russia, he signed a contract with the Russian defense ministry in 2025 and later joined the GRU’s 14th separate special forces brigade. He was captured while fighting against Ukraine.
