If LLMs are the highest form of #AI, then I believe AI is overrated. A lot of the LLMs out there, adopted by business as a service to consumers, are really bad.
AI must have better utility, specific to the needs of people and businesses, to ultimately drive revenue growth.
$BABA nothing really bad about earnings report. Alibaba is a cash cow re-investing cash into cloud and AI. Unlike Meta and the Metaverse, they have a clear path to profitability. 9% adjusted revenue growth isn’t bad too.
@BrianTycangco I went to the philippines last june. The income disparity is huge. Safety is also pretty bad, considering that there are guards with shotguns guarding supermarkets
I think it’s quite obvious that #EileenGu ‘s decision to represent Team China is a business decision. When you’re beloved in China, money rains upon you.
Every quarter, Fintwit gets the earnings release date of $BABA wrong. Just wait for the official statement on their website. All the predictions either by Nasdaq or Robinhood are merely predictions.
@AJButton2 I feel that the narrative of AI have changed to become “something that will change the world” and while that is true, AI should be quantified into cost cutting for various businesses.
@weary_centurion I think that nothing’s fundamentally changed with Paypal. It’s still generation cash flow and there’s still divisions within Paypal that is generating high growth. Balance sheet is healthy and cash flow is great. 15% buybacks in 2026 is no joke too.
@acce is getting too much flack for $PYPL. Turnarounds take time. You can’t judge a CEO solely based on stock price. The facts are that revenue is still growing and the company is still generating tons of cash flow and buying back lots of shares.
$PYPL is down 15% and there is also a change in CEO. This is quite similar to $BABA when Daniel Zhang stepped down. @acce made significant changes in the company but results take time. I’m even more compelled to buy at these levels, but I’ll wait and see.
