“When I was a boy of 14, my father was so ignorant I could hardly stand to have the old man around. But when I got to be 21, I was astonished at how much the old man had learned in seven years.” — Mark Twain
Happy Father's Day everyone.
One day, you'll bury your dad, and that's the day you'll realize you lost the only man who genuinely wanted you to do better than him.
Take care of him if he's alive.
You're supposed to use every unfair advantage you have. Looks, genetics, connections, dad's money, whatever.
There's nothing noble about choosing the hardest path just to feel like an underdog.
@BaseballDudes48 When I do GameChanger, my kid really seems to hit better and other teams don’t bobble grounders or drop flyballs. It’s also weird how Timmy struggles to find a gap and seems to have a hole in his glove. They play the same positions. Probably just coincidence.
I’ve known this account for a couple of years now.
IMPERATOR is worth your attention if you enjoy Roman history, Stoic thought, biblical wisdom, and early Christian writings.
My favorite @elonmusk quote that I often send friends:
Do not fear losing. “You will lose,” Musk says. “It will hurt the first fifty times. When you get used to losing, you will play each game with less emotion.” You will be more fearless, take more risks.
Shaquille O’Neal says his kids need three degrees to touch Daddy’s cheese
“In order to touch Daddy's cheese you gotta have three degrees because I believe in respectable nepotism”
“I was with the Miami Heat one day and this article came out. The grandmother leaves the son $250,000,000”
“This kid's on his knees scrubbing the bathroom floor and I'm looking at him. I'm like, hey man, didn't your grandmother just leave you $250,000,000?”
“Yeah, but Dad wants me to start from the bottom. Once I saw that I was like, you know what, that right there is respectable nepotism”
“I also have to teach my kids we're not rich, I'm rich”
