Liam Spence, MDP Peer Advisor and Mission Operations Manager for the @miteecubesat MDP team, will be one of many students presenting their work at the Winter 2021 @UMengineering Design Expo!
Join us virtually on April 15th from 12-2pm and 5-7pm: https://t.co/JCEOIOQh9k
Update: We are currently tracking a few off-nominal items within the MiTEE-1 data provided by the @SatNOGS community, though nothing we've identified yet as high-risk to our mission. Plenty of learning opportunities for our team; working on publishing beacon decoding key soon!
Update: MiTEE-1 is operational with nominal health beacons and battery voltages! This is a huge accomplishment for our team as we continue MiTEE-1's Health & Status Checkout procedures; more updates to come! 〽️🛰️
(Check out MiTEE-1 on the RHS of the first image!)
Latest Update:
MiTEE, CP12 and CAPE-3 have been received by multiple stations.
There is a TLE set generated by @ppapadeas with strf toolkit for CP12 that fits the latest observations.

@jwcutler@SkyFoxLabs@PolySat Unfortunately we've yet to receive a beacon on our CSRB ground station, we plan to implement some possible solutions in passes later this morning. Thanks to MXL and other @SatNOGS operators, however, we are currently moving forward with MiTEE-1 Health & Status Checkouts!
@SkyFoxLabs@PolySat If all is working out, we should have a 30 second beacon period. Attempting the first contact with our home ground station around 2:45 AM EST, just listening for now, been a long day... Thank you for all your community's help!! We'll have more COMMS info out soon with any luck!
No matter what happens today, we all deserve to celebrate the immense accomplishments that have lead us to this point. We wouldn't be here without years of hard work from hundreds of past alumni and current students, and we are so proud of all our team has accomplished!
@pe0sat MiTEE-1 should have woken up and completed its 4 antenna burns after 25 minutes post-deployment, with our every-30-second beacon being enabled immediately afterward
MiTEE-1 is alive! Our beacon appears to have come online and we are actively tracking the preliminary TLE found on SatNOGS; further refined TLE to come as we hear of our deployment state vector. Great news, and thank you SatNOGS!! 〽️🛰️
MiTEE-1 is successfully orbiting Earth as our team awaits the first refined TLEs and first communication opportunities. Thank you to all our alumni who joined the watch party today, it was truly a pleasure to share this momentous occasion with you! More updates to come! 〽️🛰️
MiTEE-1 has officially been inserted into orbit! Now, the tough part for us begins as we try to communicate with an object the size of a loaf of bread in space. Follow along here for mission updates as we have them and a full debrief of launch day and initial spacecraft checkout!
#LaunchDemo2 is on and SatNOGS is ready to observe ELaNa 20 Cubesats:
CACTUS-1, CAPE-3, ExoCube-2(CP12), MiTEE, PolarCube, RadFXSat-2(FOX-1E) and Q-PACE
