A MIND-blowing concert 🪷✨

It was a full-circle moment. Once upon a time, I went outside of a certain company to protest certain things. I met an ARMY there. Tonight, she found me again when I was getting seated. The seat next to me was empty, so she ended up sitting with me. I realized that 1 year and 2 months ago, we were fighting a battle in the name of that man we love — a tiring battle that we won. And today felt like fate. Fate to meet again there for this special, meaningful occasion. For Yoongi. For his legacy. For positivity. For everything that is good in this world.

The show started. Introductions. Enter the one and only Professor Cheon Keun-ah, cheers. She says HIS name, cheers. Then Yoongi’s message on the big screen, tears (and cheers). You saw it. I went from “OMG a Yoongi update” to “I’m so proud of you” to “HIS HAIR!”. And then the main event.

The artists were BRILLIANT. There were young kids, older ones, but also teens and even adults. They all introduced themselves individually, after or before their performances. And some had a lot to say: it was truly endearing how proud they were. And how bold to talk in front of a big audience! I could never.

Then they played, sang or both. Some were helped by staff members to play their instruments, some weren’t: the spectrum was vast, as it really is. It put things into perspective. But what mostly transpired? The talent, the courage, the happiness: intensely palpable.

Some of the younger kids were so playful, waving at the crowd and jumping with happiness and pride after their set. Some kids took the opportunity to shout out “I love you” to their mom in the audience: oh my heart, I can’t imagine how proud their family was. One teen was so proud of himself after playing, he made a winning fist. That same teen also played a special song by himself with his guitar, which he prepared, and I think it’s one we heard Yoongi play with his guitar too before. I think. And damn, he was good. We cheered, we clapped, we laughed. WE FELT.

And the BTS medley, performed mostly by the younger artists. Spring Day (oh God, the emotion, the crowd quietly singing…). Boy With Luv. IDOL. Perfection. Tears. I will never forget this moment. Thank you, Suga Crew for accompanying them.

Tonight, I am in awe and deeply inspired — and I wanna be like every performer I saw when I grow up. So bold and courageous, but overall so damn HAPPY.

Dear Professor Cheon, dear staff, your work is astounding. Thank you for showing the way. I hope more hospitals adopt this program all around the world.

My dear Yoongi, I will never have enough words to express how proud I am of you, and how proud I am to support you. What you accomplished here is beyond. Just beyond. I know it was recorded and that you will see or you saw the concert already: your MIND crew did so good, you will be/must be so proud of them. Since the beginning of your career, you already changed a lot of lives — a lot of ours, definitely mine — but you have now touched even more lives with this special work, your musicality, your mind. What an honor it is to be your fan.

And now, dear amazing artists of all ages, you SHINED so bright tonight. It was the honor of my life to have been part of YOUR audience. I will never forget this night.
