Every single day thousands of kind and talented professionals who have moved to this country prop up our under funded health service. They look after your mother, father, sister and brother.
They are not the problem. They’re not the ones destroying Dublin tonight. Sickening.
Thinking of my colleagues and friends in The Rotunda tonight, many who have been unable to leave the hospital after 10/11/12hour shifts
Also thinking of the women who will need to travel to the hospital tonight and may struggle to do so safely
Ní neart go cur le chéile.
Thinking of the victims of today's horrible assault and everyone trying to get home safely through the violence in Dublin tonight.
This riot won't help those kids in hospital, but they already knew that.
The worst thing is that those riots have completely silenced the tragedy that happened to those kids. Everyone will be talking about scumbags stealing Nikes and burning cars instead. #DublinRiots
For centuries Irish people fled war, poverty and persecution and other countries took us in. I'm so ashamed of the hate Ireland's far right shows towards those seeking refuge today. #dublinriots
You know what’s caught up in the middle of this? The Rotunda hospital, where women will be unable to get in or get out of the hospital when they need to.
Trying to promote your pride in being Irish is learning the language, listening to Irish artists and live trad music, supporting our national teams, supporting small businesses, getting involved in your community and many other things
It is not what is happening in Dublin right now
Easy to get caught up in the understandable rage around this, but it's more important to let anyone we know who's been made to feel endangered and vulnerable know that they're loved, wanted, welcomed and supported here in Ireland. Those thugs don't speak for us.
Dublin is an embarrassment tonight, no regard for the actual victims. People filling their own agendas, destroying the city thinking it wont have consequences. Everyone there should be brought to justice and ring leaders sentenced as well. Horrible day to be Irish
Non Irish people shouldn't have to be extraordinary or superheroes or martyrs to be be treated as human beings. We all deserve to live ordinary lives and be safe.
They’re burning out an emergency accommodation site in Finglas. This is insane. This is an industrial unit where people fleeing war/oppression have the basics like a bed and a kitchen. This is weaponised bigotry. I’m sick. #DublinRiots
