KIDS: When players on a team care about each other, winning cultures thrive. A lot of that culture is built off the ice with relationships, but it's also really built on the ice with buy in, sticking up for each other, and unselfish play.

This unselfish play here from Artemi Panarin shows why he is one of the most popular teammates in the league.

It's a small thing, but worth the weight of gold in the locker room.

In a league where goals are at a premium, and goals equal dollars, Panarin has a clear open net for the goal but chooses to pass it to Kreider.

And yes, one can argue that he should've shot it in a one-goal game. But I still love it.

When top players are unselfish, that goes such a long way for setting the tone for the team's culture. The Rangers are only one point back from the top of the league, and as small as a play as this is, it's probably a big reason why.

I'm also a believer in the Hockey Gods. Because what happens on the following shift...Panarin gets the puck and scores another empty netter.

Awesome.

Serious players are intentional because they want to achieve. When it comes to preparation, are you a GET TO or GOT TO player? Practice/weights/conditioning/working out are privileges, not punishments. Serious players don’t think they’ve GOT TO work; rather they GET TO improve!
