Excerpt below from Wikipedia article “1924 Republican National Convention” in which editors inserted a partisan publication’s (Time) attempt to smear the RNC convention with alleged KKK sympathies where none existed perhaps to offset the highly publicized Democrat Party’s resurgence of the KKK following President Wilson’s !915 promotion of the KKK recruitment film, “Birth of a Nation”

“The head of the Ku Klux Klan, Imperial Wizard Hiram Wesley Evans, was in the city for the convention but maintained a low public profile. Time featured Evans in a cover photograph in conjunction with an article about the organization's role in the Republican convention, dubbing it "the Kleveland Konvention."

NOTE: That same month the 1924 Democratic National Convention at Madison Square Gardens was so overwhelmed by KKK delegates that it took 103 ballots and 16 days to wrest control of the nomination from them while 20,000 KKK members (dubbed “Klanbake”) on the NJ shore across the Hudson cheered on the chaos and burned effigies.

Saieg v. City of Dearborn (Arabic Christian Perspective / George Saieg)
• Key ruling: 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, decided May 26, 2011 (641 F.3d 727).

• Outcome: The court held that Dearborn’s leafleting restrictions (banning distribution on sidewalks adjacent to the festival and outer perimeters) violated the First Amendment. It was not a valid time, place, or manner restriction. The district court’s summary judgment for the city was reversed on the free speech claim.
