It's worth noting that this figure is for one station. Northern CA has a mere ~192%~ of average SWE for this date. With warmer storms (and temperatures) coming in, reservoir operators have to balance flood risk from faster snowmelt with capacity to withstand future droughts.

Dr. Farmer was 62 years old. He is survived by his wife, Didi Bertrand Farmer, and their three children.

My partner's neighborhood is burning down- on Dec. 30th. I never thought it would happen this late in the year, but it's near-impossible to stop a fire under these conditions. Wildfire season knows no bounds of space or time now #marshallfire
