@Conor_J_Power He is a 1c. He's not a top 10 or a 1c on a contender but you can't name 31 centers better than him. You likely can't name 20 better than him. He has hit 30 goals for 5 years in a row and is consistently 54%ish in the faceoff dot and plays bumper on the PP, all things are valuable
@Hockey_HighLife NMCs are to protect the player from being traded against their will, when the player attempts to weaponize it by asking out and hoping their list provided is big enough then the GM has every right to do what's best for the team and ensure there is a good return, this is basic.
@Hockey_HighLife Genuinely wtf are you talking about. NMCs don't mean the player gets to say they want to be traded and miraculously get traded. You know that right? If he wants out he will need to expand his list, the teams will need to get more pieces or he plays there's no other options.
@Hockey_HighLife There have been multiple players who have asked to be traded, and they continued to play until they were traded because they signed a contract. He's going to eventually be traded, idk why you think people don't see that, but he won't be traded for scraps. Keep dreaming lil guy.
@Hockey_HighLife No player is freely giving up 9mil. He will make 30mil on the rest of this but he's not going to sit for a full year. No player has ever given up that much money for nothing.
He doesn't get to use the NMC against SY, you still don't get it. SY will hold him, and he will play.
@Hockey_HighLife@ThatsALottaGs Once again making shit up and moving goalposts, it's too easy with you. No one called the Wings the good guys, I'm very objective in saying this hurts both but other teams are not entitled to Larkin, SY does not have to take a bad return, and it is good for him to call the bluff.
@Hockey_HighLife Well it is relevant, and you're still using it wrong lmao. He took a cheap deal, he is not going to want to sit for a full year and not get paid, will the Wings be a worse team with him sitting? Sure but they'll be worse after trading him so not a big deal. Sitting hurts him too
@Hockey_HighLife@ThatsALottaGs He's not already gone, in fact he's here for 5 more years. We gave him the right to choose 3 but he gave us the right to not trade him, so we do get a choice that's what you're not comprehending. You think he's gone, he will be traded most likely, but we don't HAVE to
@Hockey_HighLife You're really dumb man, I feel bad putting you in the dirt over and over again. Upwards of means equal to or excess of, so you said he was getting 100+. No GM is giving 35 year old Dylan Larkin a deal to take him past 40, and if they do it's definitely not at 15+ lmao. Sit.
@Hockey_HighLife@ThatsALottaGs Why bother making up things to argue against. We are losing our best center, that's a losing situation, but we at least recognize we don't need to take a shitty return for him because he only gave 3 teams. He can return to camp and play because that's what he is obligated to do
@Hockey_HighLife@Sparty87654@ThatsALottaGs Oh honey. I'll hold your hand through the math, at 35 he's getting maximum 5 years, that would mean he would get 20 mil per year to get to 100 mil on that contract, the cap can go up as much as it wants. He's not going to be a top end 2c from 35-40 so he's not getting that money
@Hockey_HighLife@Sparty87654@ThatsALottaGs You're high if you think 35 year old Larkin is getting 100 mil on his next contract. Holy shit you're just dumb, no way around it. Detroit is not worried about ticket sales LMAO
@ErikisOkay@ThatsALottaGs Because he signed an 8 year deal. He chose to stay, now he faces the consequences of leaking that he wants out. SY will not take a sub par return because Larks is mentally soft and only lists 3 teams. That's on Larks not SY.
@Hockey_HighLife@ThatsALottaGs No one is mad about the NMC idc. This is the bed Larkin made by asking for a trade. He committed to 8 years and now if he wants out he has to either make a concession or report to camp because SY does NOT need to trade him. You're just too stupid to get it.
@Hockey_HighLife@ThatsALottaGs That's right, and Yzerman is under no obligation to trade him. No one has said he NEEDS to expand his list for contractual reasons, but if he wants to be traded that's how it's going to happen I don't know why you're acting like this is unheard of.
@Hockey_HighLife@ThatsALottaGs You literally said he isn't honoring their agreement by not trading him. It's not an embarrassment at this point, it initially was but his inability to be flexible on the teams has totally flipped the narrative and now he looks terrible and that'll be the way until he is traded
@Hockey_HighLife@ThatsALottaGs You seem to be misunderstanding. He's not denying him his right to choose where he CAN be traded to. He has said that he won't trade him to those teams as they don't have good returns, he's not obligated to trade Larkin by any means. SYs roster is not failing to honor a contract.
@Hockey_HighLife@ThatsALottaGs What the hell are you talking about. How is SY not honoring his side? Do you think NMCs give you full ability to dictate when you want to be traded? It protects you from being traded not the other way around, and YES he IS obligated that's what a contract means.
@willjohnsonbf1 Jarvis Guentzel and Forsberg are all wingers on their respective teams. Larkin would've been the 1C on a few winning teams this year there's 0 debate about that. PHI, BOS, MIN, WASH to name a few.
