20 YEARS OF 'CORPORATE': MADHUR BHANDARKAR SAYS BIPASHA BASU DESERVED A NATIONAL AWARD.
As #Corporate completes 20 years, filmmaker #MadhurBhandarkar reflected on the legacy of the acclaimed drama, expressing disappointment that the film failed to win a National Award despite its critical acclaim. He revealed that the National Awards jury debated for nearly 2–3 days over whether to honour Corporate or Traffic Signal, with the latter eventually winning by majority decision.

Speaking about the film's lead actress, Bhandarkar said #BipashaBasu delivered the finest performance of her career and deserved to receive the National Award for Best Actress. While acknowledging the appreciation and awards she did receive, he admitted he always felt a National Award would have been a fitting recognition for her powerful portrayal.
Released on 7 July 2006, Corporate starred Bipasha Basu, #KayKayMenon, #RajBabbar, #RajatKapoor, and #MinisshaLamba. Over the years, the film has earned cult status for its realistic portrayal of corporate rivalry, ambition, and ethics, and continues to be regarded as one of Madhur Bhandarkar's most impactful works.
