Updates from India's optional practice session, which lasted around 2–2.5 hours:

🔹7 players turned up: Prince Yadav, Kuldeep Yadav, Varun Chakravarthy, Shivam Dube, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, NKR and Abhishek Sharma.
🔹Vaibhav Sooryavanshi spent more time batting against spinners than pacers, hinting at a possible role at No. 3
🔹Varun Chakravarthy was the main focus of the session, bowling under the supervision of Sairaj Bahutule.
🔹New Zealand did not practice at all.

🚨Ravichandran Ashwin on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi and why people are blaming him and Aakash Chopra over Vaibhav Sooryavanshi not getting a chance.
💬
"I still see people complaining about Vaibhav Sooryavanshi not getting opportunities. Even today, I was reading posts on social media where people were calling Aakash Chopra and Ashwin the number one culprits for not letting him play.We are not the decision-makers. I know Vaibhav is an exceptional talent, but we have played cricket ourselves, so perhaps we understand the pain another player goes through.

The way Abhishek Sharma and Sanju Samson are batting, and the way they have performed for the Indian team, we have to give them their due as well.
Vaibhav Sooryavanshi will get his time. But as long as these two are performing well, we should enjoy their batting"

🚨Ravichandran Ashwin on Naman Dhir
💬
" We have found a terrific player in Naman Dhir. The selectors' eye for talent was absolutely spot on.
Look at the pressure in the final stages when Nitish Reddy came in. There was still pressure, but Naman didn't try to muscle the ball. He simply relied on his timing and played it over mid-off and cover.

He could have easily attempted to hit that Matt Henry's full toss towards the leg side for a six, but instead, he just timed the ball over mid-off. That's the difference. These shots come when a batter is completely in control of his game.
Just class written all over him. A class operator. I have a lot of time for Naman Dhir"

Ajay Jadeja and Madhuri Dixit were rumoured to have had a brief fling in the 90s and wanted to get married. The two met during a magazine or commercial photoshoot. At the time, Ajay was trying to make a career in Bollywood, and Madhuri reportedly tried to help him by using her contacts in the film industry.

However, Ajay came from a royal family that opposed his marriage to a Bollywood actress. In the end, family pressure came between the two, and their relationship fell apart.

What a snoozefest of a Koffee with Karan episode! The promo made it seem like there would be some juicy drama, but the actual episode was a complete letdown. Barely anything interesting happened

@hsn8700 Watched a YouTube video of two journalists discussing the Indian team's net session. They are in New Zealand

[Wickets Hitting @offpacedelivery]

Updates from the Indian team's net session:

🔹Sanju Samson and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi did not look particularly good in the nets.
🔹Abhishek Sharma, Tilak Varma and Shreyas Iyer looked relatively better.
🔹Bhuvneshwar kumar bowled at full throttle for around 30–40 minutes.
🔹Sanju Samson spent a considerable amount of time batting in the nets.
🔹The straight boundaries are slightly shorter than the square boundaries. Gautam Gambhir was seen advising the batters to target the V and play as straight as possible.

Rahul Dravid was unhappy with the way he was treated in 2011. He was dropped from the World Cup squad, only to be brought back for the England tour when they needed him. The captain and selectors ignored him for the World Cup, then came running back when they needed his services.

Dravid was unhappy with this double standard and confided in a few journalists, off the record, that he would retire from this format after the England series. At the end of the conversation, he specifically asked them not to publish the information. However, they eventually revealed the story on their YouTube channel

@AhamSampurn This is absolutely correct. Senior journalist Abhishek Tripathi reported it, and one or two other reporters also confirmed this news.

A day before the first BGT Test, Gautam Gambhir walked into the team meeting and read out the playing XI. Ravichandran Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja, two senior players, were missing from the lineup.

As soon as Gambhir left, Ashwin lost his cool and started telling the young players sitting beside him about his records and why he deserved to be in the playing XI. Jadeja was equally disappointed but chose to keep quiet.

That was the beginning of the dressing-room problems, and things only went downhill from there as the series progressed. Eventually, Ashwin retired midway through the tour and returned home. He could have stayed, shared his experience, and helped groom the younger players, but he chose to walk away instead.

The old yaari-dosti network is back. Pragyan Ojha has repeatedly shown his regional bias. When Ambati Rayudu was dropped, he brought the Hyderabad angle into his tweet. and According to some insiders, when the vice-captaincy debate came up, he pushed for hyderabad player Tilak Varma. In return, he backed whoever Ajit Agarkar wanted as captain.

Not good news for Indian cricket. They should have appointed VVS Laxman instead. That would have been a much better choice

Firstly, this Koffee with karan episode could be another Deepika-Ranveer disaster waiting to happen. Newly married couples should avoid coming on this show. Deepika and Ranveer learned that the hard way..

Secondly, the way Vijay behaves, you would think Rashmika begged him to marry her and he agreed as if he were doing her a favour. And tbh, I feel that is exactly what would have happened if Liger had been a blockbuster. I doubt he would have married Rashmika if the film had been a hit.

Riya Sen has been seen hanging out with US-based Paul Chopra multiple times. He keeps uploading pictures and videos with her on Instagram, and she looks visibly annoyed in most of them.

What a downfall! The granddaughter of legendary Suchitra Sen is now roaming around with this creepy old dude. 💀
