@GLoncharnock@Rainmaker1973 Fair, I see your point. I think it simply didn't come across to me as such. There's a certain degree of relief and closeness that comes with witnessing people step away from the (easy) pessimism and constant aggression, and consciously decide to adjust their brain chemistry.
@Dayvee325David@amazing_physics You're talking in-atmosphere. He hit the speed within the first minute and only held it for something like half a minute if I remember correctly. Then, as the air got thicker, your reasoning gets closer. But also 36.5km (until parachute) in 4.5 min = ~135m/s or ~302 mph.
@Sworn2Valor@CruizRic@amazing_physics There's some degree of guilty satisfaction when reading comments made by antisocial people thinking they're having a small victory over someone. As frustrating as their actions/existence may be.
@jacobs_tyl45936@amazing_physics Because in short, social media consumers (well, everyone) are visually driven. The image doesn't pretend to be real, it's just there as an attention anchor.
@WILLIAM58370751@amazing_physics Your persistent anger blurred the line between AI and Photoshop for you. Also, I'm concerned that you thought this image was there to fool anyone.. Please talk to the people close to you who you trust, form connections, but save them the anger. I'm talking from their perspective.
@TylerSm8904964@Rainmaker1973 While I agree in principle, it's important to recognise that not everyone's circumstances can be changed through sheer mindset shift. There's a very concrete reality and external influence on our lives that control a good chunk of it. Good mindset makes for good society, though.
@gremor@ronaldking78657@pickover@sketchplanator That's what I was saying. If you're moving at c, and so is the light, then you'd both travel at the same speed respective each other, thus none should be bouncing.
But it seems Einstein expected light to be able to travel at 2c, which confuses me, as c is considered the limit?
@GLoncharnock@Rainmaker1973 Until you named it, I thought you were going for toxic positivity. Which I guess could be considered the same thing.
But I feel like the post doesn't reference toxic positivity, but a specific use of mindfulness to process and linger on the positives without rejecting reality.
@AmberCh8675309@vangoghmuseum Correct me if I'm wrong, as I'm in no way savvy in art history, but I don't think he made it back in his day either? Didn't he get idolised post mortem?
@mfbenson1@pickover@sketchplanator In your example, you'd still have light hitting you from the front, nothing states the light source is behind you.
What confuses me: turns out, apparently Einstein believed that light speed would be the same relative to the observer, so 2C. Which is odd to me.
@PhilpottGrady@AMAZlNGNATURE It's still a window into how a person, community or society thinks, which can be both interesting and helpful in understanding how to interact with it.
@jkruener Oh wow, you're a star, thank you so much.
There are some beautifully executed maps in there that I will happily make use of : ) Will also be on the lookout for any more stuff from you.
Thanks again and I hope life will calm down soon!
