Timely advice: If any WI Republican offers even a hint that mental health issues are to blame rather than guns, remind them how last week they turned Gov. Evers’ many mental health initiatives to $0.
They zeroed it out.
WATCH: “…it wasn't mental health that killed these people, it was an automatic rifle. I'm a gun lover. I have guns. I'm a former police officer. I’m a former Army officer ... prayers won't bring these people back. We need action in our legislatures.”
Republicans are cutting free school meals from the budget, too. The state has a $7 billion surplus right now, but I guess making sure children have food to eat isn't worth it to them.
@GovEvers was re-elected in 2022 by an even bigger margin than 2018, and yet our gerrymander-coddled Republican majority still can't come to terms with the popularity of his vision for our future.
Today's removal motion gutting his budget is an insult to voters across our state.
Dear Republicans:
- We don't care if the Louisville mass shooter was a Democrat.
- We don't care if the Nashville mass shooter was transgender.
- We don't care if the mass shooters used pronouns, or were gay or liked sausage on their pizza.
- We don't even care if the mass shooters wear boxers or brief, are educated or uneducated, are Trump supporters or Biden supporters.
ALL THAT WE CARE ABOUT is that they used semi-automatic rifles to murder innocent people, and these murders could have been STOPPED, while our ignorant politicians made a mockery out of it all!
#BreonnaTaylor would have celebrated her 27th birthday today.
On March 13, police entered her home and killed her. She was an essential worker. She was an EMT in Louisville, Kentucky. Today, we're demanding justice.

I wrote out some thoughts on how to make this moment a real turning point to bring about real change––and pulled together some resources to help young activists sustain the momentum by channeling their energy into concrete action. https://t.co/jEczrOeFdv

Holy cow! Huge win for Wisconsin Dems as Karofsky takes Supreme Court seat!! Amazing work by @benwikler and @WisDems And the real heroes are people who risked too much to vote in a pandemic. Lift a glass to each and every one and work so it never happens again. Cheers.
