@David__Osland I thought that final salary pensions for private company employees were taxed by the Labour Government making them none sustainable.
I agree that selling off the council houses was not a long term solution but making people more self responsible was.
@BritainUnbound@ChrisGPackham Just to clarify the lies here:-
The economy did not crumble after Brexit in fact the service industry which generates wealth in the U.K. has done very well.
Queues are often a result of bank holidays and half terms and failures in passport control.
@capedjoosader@Ed_Miliband The pay back time for investing in the grid and large scale energy storage I believe is about 15 years. Hopefully the price of oil and gas will have come down by then anyway.
@croucher_tiger@Ed_Miliband Itโs too late the CO2 in the atmosphere will take hundreds of years to disappear. The world will get a bit warmer but Iโm sure in about 50 years time we will have cheap nuclear power and have solved carbon capture.
@Ed_Miliband The government wonโt allow people to generate their own electricity and loose all that tax revenue. Pay per mile for electric cars will be followed by taxation on solar panels. We have energy security in the North Sea but we lack competent politicians.
@LibDems High energy costs are because of our inept energy system. Political chaos is caused by politicians and a poor economy is due to economic mismanagement. All the issues in the U.K. are of our own making and can only be solved by us. The blame stops with us.
@Anarchy_FM@narindertweets Rising Operating Costs: The supermarket has cited significant spikes in operational expenses, including government increases to the National Living Wage and employer National Insurance contributions.
Intense Competition: Fierce rivalry from discount chains.
@UKLabour@AndyBurnhamGM Andy Burnham; one moment he is desperate to rejoin the EU next thing he is hoping to represent a leave voting constituency and there apparently is no rush now. Is Makerfield just a door mat to No.10 for Andy?
@OperaSocialist The remain argument was that we couldnโt live outside the EU without terrible consequences. This proved to be a lie. Any economic problems the U.K. has are entirely of our own making. The service sector is doing well and generating profit.
@MbarkCherguia Following a four-week trial at Liverpool Crown Court, Mohammed Fahir Amaaz (20) has been convicted of common assault and two counts of actual bodily harm.
@Ed_Miliband We are still heavily dependent on fossil fuel for transport and energy and should therefore keep using and exploring gas and oil to get revenue from drilling and stability of supply.
The revenue from oil and gas could help pay for necessary grid upgrades.
@RaachRach@Keir_Starmer I donโt think the average U.K. citizen is that interested in the affairs of Israel or Gaza. There are many horrible wars taking place and the GAZA situation is just one of them.
@Keir_Starmer Starmer promised a lot and delivered a mix of broken promises, hypocrisy and political inertia.
Broken promises such as fixing the economy and smashing the gangs. Political inertia because he doesnโt command his party.
@PhilMyers53 Two acts of self harm:-
No. 1 was selling off the drilling rights to the North Sea unlike Norway which kept a substantial state interest.
No.2 voting in a Labour Party and thinking they would do any better than last time.( unemployment up, public debt up etc)
@cheesewipe70442@PolitlcsUK@thetimes Kemi Badenoch said she asked the PM at PMQs โdid the security vetting information you received contain a particular piece of informationโ and he said yes even though he had denied receiving any security information.
I think thatโs her argument.
@DaddyCoffee73@Keir_Starmer So, every 10 years we should have a referendum. If we arenโt going to have a referendum then we should be having 10 year cycle of rejoining and then leaving if you want to be fair to both sides
@plamen_neykov@TerraOrBust Itโs not a stupid take its a statement of fact. Spain is a democratic country and could vote to leave the EU if it wanted. London is not a democratic country nor is Sheffield. (Spain has lately had a few issues with the EU.)
