Donโt you get it? ๐๐ฝโโ๏ธ If I make my classroom super cute and organised, then the rest of my year will go smoothly! ๐ฉ๐ฝโ๐ซ Head of Maths ๐ London
@CMaths3 We offer it as an option subject - 5hrs a fortnight. We can teach it in a year and then use year 11 for either teaching further maths, or revising statistics and maths.
Using manipulatives is a powerful way of helping your pupils make new meaning.
Every day, we will be sharing a task for the classroom, designed with a particular manipulative in mind.
๐ทโค๏ธThis evening, get those geoboards out! Perfect for teaching shapes, angles, area, and fractions too!.
Why not have a go at this task yourself? Weโd love to hear your thoughts.

I'm looking for a maths teacher to cover a teacher on my team who is going on maternity leave. Start date January or February. Timetable is mostly Year 10 - 13. Could lead to a permanent role in September if desired. DM or email if you have questions. ๐

I have recently written a new curriculum for 5-18 mathematics.
I think the approach to curriculum design is unlike anything that currently exists. I also think it is precisely what we need.
I will publish a full discourse shortly. But first, I would like to stress test my thinking.
At 7pm on Thursday, I will present my ideas in a live webinar.
I would like to invite all those interested in mathematics curriculum design to join me, hear me out, and share your thoughts.
If you would like to attend, please send me a DM with your email and I will add you to the invitation list, with a link to the webinar.
Being able to articulate the thinking behind the curriculum and receive feedback and criticism from expert mathematics educators and mathematicians will be enormously helpful.
Hope to see you there.
A top education official has said that teachers should be able to qualify without having a GCSE in maths to help solve Britain's secondary school recruitment crisis.
Should all teachers have a GCSE in maths even if they're teaching subjects like PE or Art?
Looking for the skills map for the June 23 GCSE series. Iโve checked on @MathsEmporium but their version doesnโt have the spec ref (like the pic) for the questions. Anyone know where I can find it? Please RT @mathsjem@mathsplanner@1stclassmaths@mrbartonmaths
