Sixteen years ago today, the Rangers ended an 11-year playoff drought, and the go-ahead swing came from Jorge Cantú, who still hadn’t homered as a Ranger.
On Sept. 25, 2010, Cantú broke a 3-3 tie in the eighth. Neftalí Feliz finished the 4-3 win with save No. 38, setting the Major League rookie saves record as Texas clinched the AL West.
That was the day October finally came back to Texas.
