@erik_halterman Guy hit two HR in 5 games and sported a 71% hard hit rate, kinda seems like they could have given him just a little more leash to adapt...
@TJStats Probably worth noting the Cards just optioned their starting CF Victor Scott, and Baez is primarily playing CF in the AAA. Looks like the roster spot is initially going to Church, but STL is also carrying three Catchers.....so....
@TJStats The problem isn't the cap, the problem is the largest market teams in the league control their TV rights vs the league as a whole, and small market teams like the Pirates don't get a time of the Mets TV revenue when they play each other.
@TJStats@dennisfine12 Over the past 30 years, NFL and MLB have roughly the same parity in ALCS/NLCs vs AFC/NFC championship participants, however, that outcome in MLB is 90% correlated to payroll.
Only 4 teams that started the season in the bottom 50% of payroll made it to the ALCS/NLCS.
@mike_petriello Wildest part is there's like 3 starters with a higher Whiff% -- Miz, Strider and Cease. Feels like if he could just find the plate consistently, he could be serviceable...
@j3aguilar@EricCrossMLB And that Rangers lineup Sunday was worse than the lineup today. No Joc, No Even Carter, and they started Higashioka at DH for chrissakes!!
Like, great on Detmers for not throwing meatballs, but that was an MiLB lineup...
@MLB Padres are the only team he doesn't wave to when he goes to hit. Not sure if he was just upset for Schildt for throwing at him on purpose, or if he's still upset with the Org over it, but hard to piss that guy off.
@JomboyMedia I cannot understand why the plate ump doesn't confer with his crew on this??? Like, the only reason is ego....if you want to get the call right at all, you'd just ask for help. Guy clearly doesn't and gets all butt hurt that he missed one. Guys like this should be run out of MLB
@SamulskiNYC@JasonSanteiu@rotoworld_bb There's just a pretty consistent trend now of guys putting up really high walk rates at their AAA stop, and that not translating to MLB
Beck, Doyle, Thompson all saw major dropoffs
So I wouldn't necessarily expect this is a skill change for Carrigg
@SamulskiNYC@JasonSanteiu@rotoworld_bb Might want to re-visit how that's worked out for the rest of the Rockies prospects over the last few years....I think Karros is the only one who's see the BB% stick, everyone else big dropoffs.
@JasonSanteiu@SamulskiNYC@rotoworld_bb Probably worth noting that the PCL significantly more hitter friendly than the AA Eastern league, and Rockies AAA park in Albuquerque is among the most favorable with +11% wOBA impact
Nearly the entire roster has double digit BB% and lower K% from AA...thats not normal...
