Contrast the newer baptismal vows (1979 Book of Common Prayer) with the older ones (1928).

I will, with God's help. (1979).
I will, God being my helper. (1928)

"With God's help" is an add-on. In the older version, it is clear that the "I will" is dependent on the "God being."
