Rose is a Yorkshire pig from Shy 38 Inc. who fell from a transport truck onto a Nebraska highway at just 3 weeks old. 🐷

Rose was very sick and almost didn't make it. She was lucky, as the rest were taken to a finishing facility and then their lives were taken at 6 months old for a “product” that people don’t need. 💔

Please think of Rose before purchasing pig’s meat. They’re beautiful individuals. 🙏💚

When Rocky first came to us, he was in rough shape. Abandoned at an old age when he needed care the most, he was severely underweight and blind. But some dogs just have an unbreakable will.

Fast forward to today, and he is one of the most incredible comebacks we’ve ever seen. Rocky is healthy, back to his full weight, and thriving. He doesn't let his lack of sight slow him down for a second.🤩

He’s incredibly social, loves making new human and dog friends, and just brings so much joy wherever he goes. He’s spent months recovering with us, and now he’s officially looking for his forever home! He’s looking for the perfect, experienced home where he can live out his best years🥰❤️

#forgottensoulshour In some ways, you would hardly know 6yo JUNI was a rescue dog. She is calm & laid back, takes life as it comes, & is now very used to living in a home. She sleeps through the night, is quiet & calm, walks beautifully on a lead, & adores human attention. Juni, along with her son Jude, are now in foster in #Moray in Scotland. Both are settling very well, & Juni is ready for her forever home. Juni has a moderate energy, she isn’t one to bound about, preferring to trot along demurely on the lead (never pulling) or sit & watch the world go by. She is great with the other dogs in her foster home (of which there are 4 including Jude), & has been good observing & meeting other dogs on walks, although in general she prefers to take herself away from them, not being super interested. Juni can live with another dog or dogs but would also be happy as an only dog. She cannot live with cats as she barks at & attempts to chase them. Our proverbial door is always left open for the ex-orphans to come visit. After eight months away, Chemi Chemi just sauntered in!

We rescued Chemi Chemi in June 2009 from Loisaba Conservancy – a young bull, eight months old, in desperate need of food and company. Brought to Nairobi where we gave him one-to-one care from our Keepers and the comfort and company of a new herd, he recovered. When he outgrew the Nursery, he graduated to our Ithumba Reintegration Unit alongside his bull friends – and the rest, as they say, is history.

Nineteen years on from his rescue, Chemi Chemi is wild. Those friendships from his Nursery days and the bonds forged with his Keepers are still going strong – he still drops by our Ithumba Unit every few months.

Orphans like Chamboi (seen here as a baby) are guided by their Keepers every step of the way, until they are ready to reclaim their place in the wild. Ask any Keeper about their greatest pride, and you’ll likely hear the same answer: seeing ‘their’ babies grow up happy and healthy, return to the wild where they belong, and one day start families of their own.
