WAR CRIMES: In March 2025, Uganda’s CDF @mkainerugaba sent Ugandan troops across South Sudan’s borders and later publicly applauded them while attacks using improvised air-dropped incendiary weapons killed and horrifically burned civilians in Upper Nile state. Human Rights Watch Interviewed and documented attacks that killed at least 58 people—many of them women and children—and destroyed civilian infrastructure. We consistently warned about the consequences of inaction against human rights violators in Uganda. Impunity for these abuses is spreading beyond Uganda’s borders.
