@DIRECTVhelp I keep seeing your posts saying we can still login with our DirecTV credentials on the fox one app to watch the World Cup if we’re impacted by the Scripps dispute, but it’s telling me it’s blacked out in my area. How do I get around this? This is ridiculous.
@phil_lyman@IliadIndustries 90% of the patients are unvaccinated. Wrestling tournaments didn’t cause the outbreak. Idiots like you who want to bring back diseases we nearly irradiated cause these outbreaks
@captainchaser21 Sorry the church stopped selling Ezra Taft Benson’s cold war fever dreams where he thought MLK was a communist plant. Those are the inspired ideas Deseret Book should be publishing 😢
@utah2034 This logo embarrasses me as a Utahn. Please fix it before the entire world sees it. I’m all for the symbolism and meaning, but it’s gotta look better than an illegible black and white scramble
@BarbShaferMDiv@EricLDaugh Just to be clear, you making that (false) disclaimer is a scummy thing to do and shows you lack compassion and sympathy in the immediate aftermath of a tragedy. Do better
@WallStreetApes People are missing the point. A family working 90 hours a week should be able to live a somewhat comfortable life.
All the boomers in the comments could get by just fine with one average income. Those days are gone, and it sucks
@hankrsmith Thanks, Hank. Pretty discouraging (but not surprising) to see how this triggers so many members.
Some serious “elder brother syndrome” resenting the grace God’s prodigal sons can receive and feeling it’s unfair when mercy is extended to others who didn’t “earn” it.
@ThoughtfulSaint Great. That doesn’t change the fact that every decision at the ward, stake, and church level ultimately is under the authority of a man.
The unbalanced power structure is undeniable.
@ThoughtfulSaint@stackerco We are incredibly blessed to have the great and wise Brother Jacob to point out the boundaries of the celestial order.
We’d be so lost without you 🙏
@BrocA96 I don’t think so. The church would still be too conservative on too many issues for moderates/progressives to stay, while many conservatives would leave.
The church will keep backing traditional marriage, even as it loses most moderates/progressives.
@ChasSteinman@gputah@TXColonel@cofjctemples Are you suggesting the church and its senior leaders don’t make mistakes?
And if you as a member thought black people should receive the priesthood in 1977 you were an apostate?
@ShaunMcKnight@NoblestCalling@cofjctemples The bell tower was never built, and there’s disputes around how ‘approved’ it ever was.
The square footage isn’t the issue - it’s the height.
@NoblestCalling@cofjctemples Yeah you’re right. It’s far less naive to think the church organization could never use their extreme wealth and power to bully a local community into getting what they want.
@Storytimedad83@ShaunMcKnight@james_IA76@lds_spence That’s fair. I’m not denying there are people who hate the church and don’t want the temple at all. I defend the church’s right to build a temple
I also believe there are folks that simply don’t want a giant glowing tower in their neighborhood, but are ok with a shorter one
