Chidima’s story stirred many thoughts and emotions in my heart. My feelings towards her are not entirely negative, but I can't help but see her as somewhat selfish, seemingly blind to the struggles of others around her. While competing for a title, it’s important to remember the many Nigerian girls who poured their hearts and souls into that competition. Yet, it appears Chidima was willing to step into the spotlight without a second thought for those who came before her, much like she did when it came to her identity.

It’s said that she wasn’t aware of her mother’s “identity theft” regardless of the lack of extended Zulu family members. I suspect this issue may have been raised when Chidima entered the contest, yet it seems to have been swept under the rug, with the hope that the authorities wouldn’t catch wind of the deception committed by her mother. I often hear people say, "She was just a baby when all that happened," but I can't help but reflect on the wisdom of Exodus 20:5: "Children shall suffer the sins of their mother."

If Chidima truly believed in her South African identity, she would have turned down the chance to compete in Miss Universe Nigeria. It seems that Nigerians often find ways to perpetuate a cycle of corruption, fraud, and crime, celebrating those who break the rules instead of holding them accountable.

Chidima’s mother engaged in identity fraud, and now her daughter is being given a platform at Miss Universe Nigeria.
It might surprise you to know that many upscale hotels and real estate around the world won't even allow Nigerians to stay nor occupy.
