@theoreticalwzrd Thank you! I'm happy to chat course design anytime. Especially if you're wondering how to handle online! I am surveying my students next week to find out what's working and what isn't.
@theoreticalwzrd I'm teaching my first course now and can confirm that I was also SO nervous! It helped me to have my syllabus reviewed by someone in CTL, other professors. Probably the teaching center would be the best place to start - they will know all the required policies and best practices!
@theoreticalwzrd I am using Better Help. I’ve found it really helpful! It’s convenient because I can have a face to face session wherever is convenient (it’s basically like Skyping a therapist). And I can message her whenever I want/need to. I highly recommend it.
@SusannaLHarris PhDs at Georgia Tech in Mechanical Engineering make $28,200 USD per year before taxes, and we have to pay $2,776 in fees each year.
A handy tool: https://t.co/Hk40AMa5qg. You can use it to calculate whether or not you make a living wage, after fees (spoiler alert: we don't).
@GaTech_Andrew @SICB_SPDAC The words “actor” and “semi-improv” are giving me stage fright already. I’m gonna pass on this one! But I can confirm @GaTech_Andrew dramatic tendencies 🤣. You’ll be great at this!
Honey bees create a mixture of pollen and nectar that sticks to their hind legs to allow them to carry the maximum amount possible back to their hives. Incredible insight from @mmatherne6@GeorgiaTech (and some awesome experimental videos as always).

It turns out honey bees aren’t just interested in honey — these hard workers bake bread by the basketful. Take a #DeepLook at bee bread, the pollen creation that serves as a bee’s main source of protein. https://t.co/ZduF60MZwz
