Our MSc conference showcased groundbreaking work from over 100 students across four dynamic MSc programmes: Electrical Power Engineering, #Sustainable Energy Systems, Electronics, and Design and Digital Media. 📚🔬 Congratulations to all of our students for their #innovation!
Not going to comment on who are the April's fools for working on the Easter Monday 1st April at 5pm. But at least we had some good fun doing an Easter egg hunt with the students of power engineering 3 today.
Students perfected their soldering craft on a custom made PCB, mimicking a traffic light system. They also could take away their realisation at the end as a reminder that they did it and acquired a new skills.
Second workshop today for the After Hour Club @SchoolOfEng_UoE, this time focused on learning how to solder electronics. Still assessment-free format and open to students from all disciplines. Great attendance and exciting interactions again at this workshop.
Hubert Reeves on God and nature 🌿
Man is the most insane species. He worships an invisible God and destroys a visible Nature. Unaware that this Nature he's destroying is this God he's worshipping.
Second After Hour Club's open workshop on 3D printing where students from all disciplines will design and print their own named keyrings to take home. @SchoolOfEng_UoE
💡 Are you an engineering student who would like to learn about #electronics in a relaxed setting?
Join our Electronics After Hours Club! It's open to all engineering disciplines, and is a fun way to learn new skills.

First workshop at @SchoolOfEng_UoE as part of the revamped After Hour Club. Teaching students from across all 4 disciplines some fundamental electronic skills in a fail-safe and stress-free environment (no assessment!). Excellent engagement and inter-disciplinary collaboration.
Welcome to the new MSc EPE & APE students at @SchoolOfEng_UoE. After a classic introduction, the cohort building exercise was a lot of fun. It turns out that building a @LEGO_Group EV without instruction is challenging! Wishing plenty of success to all the new students.
🎉 Congrats to our MSc students for completing their #sustainableenergy and #powerengineering MSc at @SchoolOfEng_UoE! They presented their amazing projects at the 1st MSc Research Conference. Thanks to our guest speaker Mark Higham from KfW IPEX Bank. 🙌
The @SchoolOfEng_UoE is excited to offer the following opportunity to join, as a Lecturer or Reader in Electrical Power Engineering. Please circulate to potential applicants. Deadline 2nd August 2023.

Very thrilled that Sebastian Neira Castillo successfully defended his PhD on power electronics with embedded energy storage, even earning praises from the panel. Sebastián is the very first PhD student to graduate with me as main supervisor.
Congratulations, Dr Neira!
Excited to be one of the trainers at the next 'Distributed Generation training course 2023' from @iet, together with Paul Judge and Stephen Finney, running online 14-16 November 2023. More information: https://t.co/Gq77BAKj8b
@DavidHowey@TMorstyn@OtherProfGreen Good questions to which I started typing something which inevitably ended up going way to deep down the rabbit hole. I'll send you this blurb in a separate email.
The power electronics team at the @SchoolOfEng_UoE is excited to be looking for 3 PDRAs to work on exciting projects on advanced power electronics research supported by strong academic and industrial partners. See below: 🧵
