Just a quick reminder. Pajamas days are fun...for some students. Holiday parties are fun...for some students. For others, these days could be a reminder of a long-time away from the place that provides a sense of safety. Many students have a heightened sense of stress.
Universal education demands much more than “equality of opportunity.” Children need to be capable of seizing that opportunity. All children will respond positively to the challenge of education, if they are in a neural and emotional state that supports learning.

@jer_jitsu You shouldn’t have called the police. This is an inherently traumatizing relationship caused by massive power unbalance. Next time look for community outreach… not sure which community you live in but do some digging in the event of a next time.
Children who develop inside environments with never ending fear are not able to regulate their nervous systems and we punish that fear because we look only at behaviors! Schools can be the safe spaces where we model the neural exercises for regulation! https://t.co/zzpwGsvJWc$

Shoutout to Alberta’s teachers, who have just fully rejected the Minister of Education in a *99%* vote of non-confidence. 👏
Now, it’s time for Albertans to reject this UCP government.
And we don’t need to wait until 2023.
Speak out. Donate. Volunteer.
We can do this.

The people that made me aware of this coal situation in Alberta were small scale family ranchers and farmers. Coal mining in our Rockies poses a great threat to many of their livelihoods. I'm with them on this. Stop the exploration and no more coal mines. https://t.co/zzrGWDmfDw
@funnymummy62 @dinnerwithjulie @BrownBaggingIt Brown Bagging has a multi million dollar operating budget, nearly 20 salaried staff and has not figured out how to meet the increased demand of actual food into children’s hands. #fail
