“Our brains are fantastic time-travel machines. We spend a lot of time thinking about the past and plenty of time thinking and worrying about the future. In other words, we spend a lot of time thinking about what is not happening in the moment.”

Vegetable “surprise box” lab with my Grade 9s concluded in phrases such as, “Hey! This actually tastes good!!” // La boîte surprise de légumes avec ma classe de 9e année s’est terminée par des phrases comme: « Hé! Ça a vraiment bon goût ! »

Happy Holi! Holi is the Hindu "Festival of Colours" and promotes the idea of togetherness and the colour of everyday life. It signifies the end of winter and hopes for the upcoming spring harvest. Despite #COVID19, we hope you are able to find safe ways to celebrate this year!

«We teach who we are...Viewed from this angle, teaching holds a mirror to the soul. If I am willing to look in that mirror and not run from what I see, I have a chance to gain self knowledge-and knowing myself is as crucial to good teaching as knowing my students and my subject.»

Today we raise the #Pride flag, alongside the Canadian flag, in support of #PrideMonth. We also raise the flag to act as a visual reminder that our school environments, physically and distantly, are safe spaces for everyone that connects with our schools and staff. 🏳️‍🌈 #WRDSBpride
