@Grundo88 @JoeMamaBagged @NHLRumourReport no. it's never been that way. used to be longer term, less AAV, more security. to get someone short term you had to pay up. now with cap going up, to get a high level player for 7-8 years you have to offer higher AAV. $15Mx5 would be closer to $20Mx7 or 8

PK has way more runway left and is less imposing within the locker room than JT. It's the youths team now and PK can fit and guide them

@LoganKane24 @BenPopeCST it makes no sense for Bedard to sign a 8 year contract with the rising cap. unless it's north of $20M AAV and then it's still risky for him to do so because he may be worth $25M AAV after 4 years or whatever max is at that time. Should the Hawks have said 8x$20.8M?
