@GregBoysen incredible article. a few things
1. did messmer sing at the '86 Oilers game? or someone rude l else.
2. in your 84-0 team who you taking, 90s messmer or 2010s big Jim?
3. paragraph 2 history made section, messmer not messier
@pablo_sanchez50@HawksFan8319@chicletsetc@Ozoon_CA lol Pablo. Byram was drafted 4OA, where your get a true number 1. Carles, Verhoff, Reid these guys are 2 years away from nhl and 4 from being any good. We're gonna walk bedard to UFA while waiting for Arty to be a #1? I think Arty will be a #1 but Byram is a hedge
@HawksFan8319@pablo_sanchez50@chicletsetc@Ozoon_CA Byram could be a #1. In two years he'll be paid like a #2. Good luck trying to get a "true #1" for the 4OA, a second, and a 5th/6th dman. be serious, Pablo.
@jayzawaski Pagnotta is such an idiot when he's not repeating basic off-season lingo (team A has talked to player X agent but he's likely heard from other teams), he's just making shit up. Hawks rake 8x$17M all day. no way bedard offered that. he's going to be leaving $5M+ on table yr3-8
@Grundo88@JoeMamaBagged@NHLRumourReport no. it's never been that way. used to be longer term, less AAV, more security. to get someone short term you had to pay up. now with cap going up, to get a high level player for 7-8 years you have to offer higher AAV. $15Mx5 would be closer to $20Mx7 or 8
@soupdard@tmatthewshockey especially for two players (cat and Larkin) who have yet to prove they can win in the playoffs let alone make it there. I'm not giving up on nazar or moore. they're both dawgs
@Harian_Mossa@Leegrasemann@bigheadhcky "Frondell really only played RW last year" he must have missed the end of the year with the Hawks where he was centering his line. Judging him by how his Sweden team used him (who deployed him terribly) is quite a take.
@SBekovic@jamfan40 yeah a lot to find out still.
Bo's contract is hefty. If he gets 60+ points and runs PP that will look fine in a season.
Loved Lou but him out not breaking our contention.
4oa- can't wait 2 yrs for a kid who won't be good for 3 more. we've got 11 1RD picks hete or arriving
@SBekovic@jamfan40 agree with most of this, Slavko, but looking at what went out vs what came in, this off-season was a success- we're better than we were last year and high level prospects a year older.
@Harian_Mossa@VonKoepke I actually like them all. Greg sees things closest to my opinion (the correct way obviously). He's probably the most flippant of the 3 but it's part of his humor so it's cool. Jay gets defensive and has the added pressure of "host". Prob still acclimating to that role.
@Harian_Mossa@ChienAndaluce I'm fine with them changing their tune considering recent events. But they've equated possible JT and PK returns FOR YEARS. That's uniformed. PK has way more runway left and is less imposing within the locker room than JT. It's the youths team now and PK can fit and guide them
@LoganKane24@BenPopeCST it makes no sense for Bedard to sign a 8 year contract with the rising cap. unless it's north of $20M AAV and then it's still risky for him to do so because he may be worth $25M AAV after 4 years or whatever max is at that time. Should the Hawks have said 8x$20.8M?
@GregBoysen great article. never thought about the skille pick and kopitar. I originally thought you were saying what if they didn't draft Toews. Kopitar with Kane and Toews would have been incredible.
but we wouldn't have bedard :)
