@CMSGov has approved 61 waivers in 20 states, intended to help streamline #Medicaid applications & renewals & keep eligible people connected to coverage when the #COVID19 public health emergency ends. https://t.co/zfj0IHn7SG

6 states have waivers to extend the time to decide appeals when applicants/enrollees challenge #Medicaid coverage denials/terminations. CMS guidance envisions safeguards, but it will be important to ensure that people don't end up w/ coverage gaps/unpaid bills as a result.

For example, 10 states have approved waivers to streamline asset verification -- which is still required for most people eligible for #Medicaid based on old age or disability, and which can create administrative barriers to coverage.
