NPF CLARIFIES FALSE BANDITRY NARRATIVE IN VIRAL KATSINA VIDEO, REAFFIRMS PARTNERSHIP WITH COMMUNITY SECURITY VOLUNTEERS
The Nigeria Police Force categorically disclaims the false and misleading narrative accompanying a viral video circulating on social media which alleges that a uniformed police officer was seen interacting with armed bandits in Katsina State.
For the avoidance of doubt, the individuals featured in the video are not bandits. They are duly recognized members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria (VGN) and registered hunters who are actively supporting ongoing security operations in collaboration with security agencies in Musawa and Matazu Local Government Areas of Katsina State.
The video captured a routine interaction between a police officer and these security volunteers as they proceeded to a designated operational area in support of efforts to combat criminality and enhance public safety. Any claim suggesting otherwise is entirely false, malicious, and intended to mislead the public.
The Nigeria Police Force strongly condemns the deliberate distortion of facts and the circulation of misinformation capable of causing public anxiety, undermining confidence in security institutions, and frustrating ongoing security operations.
Members of the public are urged to disregard the misleading claims attached to the video and rely only on information disseminated through official channels of the Nigeria Police Force and other authorized government sources.
The Force warns individuals and groups engaged in the creation, publication, or dissemination of false information capable of prejudicing public peace and security to desist immediately, as appropriate legal action may be taken against violators.
The Nigeria Police Force remains committed to working with legitimate community-based security stakeholders and other relevant partners in the collective effort to protect lives, safeguard communities, and combat crime across the country.

New Year Announcement
As the sun set today at Maghrib, we welcome the blessed month of Muharram and the beginning of a new Islamic year.
Muharram is one of the sacred months and a beautiful opportunity to renew our intentions, increase in worship, and draw closer to Allah.
Among the great opportunities in this month are:
- Fasting on the Day of โAshura (10th Muharram) - a means for expiation of the previous yearโs sins.
- Fasting the Ayaamul Beedh (13th, 14th & 15th of the lunar month) from the beloved Sunnahs of our Prophet.
May Allah grant us a year filled with barakah, guidance, forgiveness, and steadfastness upon His obedience.
#HaramainInfo #Muharram #1448H
Words fail me to describe the sadness and pain of losing one of our finest military officers after he was abducted by criminals while travelling with his wife in Katsina State last month. His mutual friend and his colleague during their masterโs degree, Permanent Secretary Adamu Abadam, described him as a complete gentleman: humble, generous, and extraordinarily caring to everyone.
Major General Rabe Abubakar held a high-profile position as military spokesman between 2015 and 2017. Furthermore, his immense contributions to counter-insurgency operations and his commitment to duty, and to the stability and unity of Nigeria, remain a shining example for all as stated by the Nigerian Army.
My heartfelt condolences go to his family, relatives, friends, the Katsina State Government, the Nigerian Army, and all those affected by his death.
May Allah overlook his shortcomings and admit him into Jannatul Firdaus together with our departed parents and loved ones, and grant his family the patience to bear this irreplaceable loss. May Allah humiliate the criminals, their supporters and sponsors.
The Day of Arafah is unmatched in virtue. The Prophet says: โThere is no day on which Allah frees more people from the Fire than the Day of Arafah. For those not on Hajj, fasting on this day expiates the sins of the previous year and the coming year, as he ๏ทบ said, โI hope from Allah that fasting on the Day of Arafah will expiate the year before it and the year after itโ. It is the day Allah perfected the religion with the verse, โThis day I have perfected for you your religionโ, and the best duโa is the duโa of Arafah: ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝLa ilaha illallahu wahdahu la sharika lahโฆโ
May Allah answer our prayers, heal our sick, forgive our parents and loved ones, bring peace and blessings to Nigeria, and admit us into His mercy.
PANTAMI WITHDRAWS FROM APC GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARIES IN PROTEST OVER ELECTORAL PROCESS VIOLATIONS!
In the name of God, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful.
Prof. Isa Ali Ibrahim Pantami, CON, PhD (Prof/Malam Pantami), has withdrawn from the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship race in Gombe State in protest over violations of the Electoral Act 2026 and the partyโs failure to provide a channel of communication and information essential for a credible contest.
When Prof. Pantami accepted calls from leaders, youth, women, and other stakeholders to contest for the governorship of Gombe State, he demonstrated loyalty to the APC by participating fully, meeting requirements, and following the laid-down guidelines and procedures. He was the only APC governorship aspirant to send a representative to the Peace Accord organised by the Nigeria Police Force, Gombe State Command, on 14 May 2026. His representative was the only one who signed the Peace Accord during the meeting.
Despite his loyalty, he was repeatedly denied access to critical information. Letters sent by his solicitors to the various organs of the party requesting details and raising concerns about the forthcoming governorship direct primaries received no reply or acknowledgment. The requests were not granted, and the issues remain unresolved.
In a democracy, the law must guide the process. Non-compliance with the Electoral Act 2026 and the party guidelines renders the exercise unsafe and illegitimate. The people of Gombe State witnessed what transpired during the direct primary โelectionsโ for the National Assembly held on 16 and 18 May 2026. The strength of Pantami lies in his massive grassroots support, particularly among women and youth. Unfortunately, in the recent direct primaries, members at the grassroots were sidelined in the process.
After extensive consultations with stakeholders and careful reflection on the developments in Gombe State, Prof. Pantami has taken the difficult decision to withdraw from the APC governorship primary election scheduled for 21 May 2026, under protest. Peaceful protest is a fundamental pillar of democracy.
The protest is based on the blatant disregard for the provisions of the Electoral Act 2026 and the failure of the party leadership to implement the framework required for a credible primary election. During the National Assembly primaries, no actual election took place in the state. According to the testimony of several aspirants, relevant details on venues, procedures, and agent and observer accreditation were not provided, but results were announced.
Even though President Bola Ahmed Tinubu insisted on the necessity of free, fair, and credible direct primaries, his directives were, unfortunately, not implemented. Prof. Pantami had requested details on the time and place for accreditation of agents and observers, the procedures for accreditation, voting, and collation, and the location of collation centres. This information should have been provided to all aspirants without being solicited. As of this moment, nothing has been provided.
Prof. Pantami expresses deep gratitude to the youth who used crowdfunding to purchase his expression of interest and nomination forms. Contributions ranged from โฆ5,000 to โฆ4 million, and receipts were issued and shared publicly online by the contributors.
The Pantamiyya Movement will communicate its next steps and future plans to its followers, supporters, sympathisers, mentees, and students of Prof. Pantami in Gombe State and across Nigeria in due course. The movementโs commitment to advancing good governance in Gombe State and Nigeria remains unwavering, and its resolve against injustice through lawful means is unshakable. All followers, admirers, and supporters of Malam Pantami are to remain united for the next alignment and realignment in the political space.
May God bless Gombe State, & Nigeria.
