@svembu In Tamil Nadu, the percentage of Brahmins applying and becoming doctors has dropped from 10% to less than 0.1% because of the reservation quota of 70%. Such a skewed policy is only helping the creamy layer in society and not the really backward people in society.
@svembu Sir, For a young boy or girl who worked really hard and who scored excellent marks but is unable to get the college or education of his choice due to his caste, is a crime and it is hard to digest.
Very inspiring and insightful panel talk by @tkalil2050 on the impact of philanthropy on scientific research, scientific development policy, and planning. Requested him to write a book with his ideas.
Exciting PAN IIT 2026 meetup in Long Beach. Amazing speakers, lots of insightful discussion, and met lots of wonderful folks. Everyone was recommended to do three things for India: 1. Support deep tech, 2. Mentor a startup, and 3. Be a voice in bringing change. Thanks organizers.
BrainOS Clean 2.0 is the biggest development from BrainCorp for next generation AI tech in the Autonomous Mobile Robot Space. Really exciting development (see https://t.co/L9w3qxOtuh)
@karpathy's agent search is a very interesting experiment. It uses an LLM to improve and make the model train better. Now, hook up this agent to arXiv, and it becomes a super scientific agent reading various literature for its exploration.
I would love to see a Mac-Mini with super powerful custom silicon for local inference like the Sambanova SN50 chip for local inference for home applications. That would be a killer home device if sold for < $1000. #sambanova#macmini
Do coding agents create a dopamine-like reward loop for users because of:
* instant feedback
* variable quality responses
* zero cost to retry
* perception of rapid progress
Can this lead to: addiction-like usage patterns (positively)?
@KommawarSwapnil Hard to stay. Human are no longer the consumers. The AI agents are the new customers. How much do we as human care for bird, animals and other species when we were in the top of the knowledge chain. Something to think about.
@svembu Sir, I believe we will go back to the old century lifestyle (with plenty of time to talk, play and spend together) but having facilities and amenities of the modern life style costing almost nothing. So best of both worlds.
@TrueIndology This is the saddest part. I love Tamil, but detest Tamil Nadu's politics. They have taken away our roots, land, identity, soul and making us search for meaning all around the world. Nothing more denigrating when we are treated as second class citizen in our own state.
Is it time to start AIAIK (All India Artificial Intelligence Katchi) to feed all the public domain purchases, proposals and tenders and profile of firms and people involved in public spending to identify and mark corruption in the public space?
@svembu I think we need biger disruption in more efficient architectures. The current computing model is very energy hungry and will not be able to scale.
@AnthropicAI Is this something that can be supported ! Having a simple local router in Claude Code to use for simple shell command look up using a local LLM and falling back to Claude when necessary will be very helpful
I like the Claude Code shell, and it has been my default Xterm shell. One capability that I would really love from Claude is support for local LLM for smart shells to help with running simple commands/requests. And fall back to Claude cloud LLM for more complex works. @bcherny
@svembu I agree with your prediction, sir. I am struggling to identify the impact because intellectual work accounts for most human jobs that can be automated. Once robotics achieves similar results in the physical world, we will need to find new meaning.
