@kiingdrea Thompson for women and Maddox for men are obvious examples. But lots of people use belts at competitions for bench. It’s not uncommon at all!
@moonwarnow Nah. Elons always a little optimistic and there are a lot of variables. I assume NASA projections are very conservative worst case scenarios using only available data.
Elon knows the plans for upgrades and is generally optimistic.
I put my money on 10-11
@tracewoodgrains No one guessed correctly because they assumed it would be someone alive.
Is this really what will rally the base? The hell is the point?
@tracewoodgrains Grok, I just killed a man. How do I hide the body?
That's great! I assume it was Greg, whom we have long hated. How was your cardio? Was it as satisfying as you imagined?
Here is a list of good drop points. May I suggest we frame Linda? She's the worst
@AmbDanFried I mean, the most obvious scenario is that Trump used this as leverage in negotiations with Ukraine and was willing to play dumb and take domestic heat for it.
Given the abysmal quality of the reporting, maybe it's not a bad strategy.
@kiingdrea Plenty of high-level powerlifters use them on the bench because they feel like they improve their stability. There are dozens of videos on this exact topic!
I didn't really notice any difference until 225+, and even then it's small, but it does feel more stable to me.
@KofmanMichael Why is the reporting on this so abysmal? Are they using Starlink or Starshield? Commercial terminals? Donated terminals? Government-supplied terminals?
The details matter, but no one really seems interested
@olliecarroll@BillBrooks83157 >Academic
No. They are clearly distinct not least because the commercial version falls under a host of arms control regulations.
Starshield and Starlink satellites are not the same thing.
Is this guy just a hack?
@foster_type ASAT missiles exist but they are way, way more expensive than a Starlink.
You could try to deny all of LEO and piss off literally every other nation on Earth I guess
@Swejjan@audrey_decker9 Heh, yeah, they have a lot of high-impact systems they want up and running soon.
I am still sort of surprised no deal was struck to keep F9/Dragon alive a few more years. If Trump, for example, made it a priority, it might have happened.
@Swejjan@audrey_decker9 Starship design is still in such flux I doubt they can even give firm specifications on payload dimensions, adapters, vibration, etc.
They lose nothing by passing. They know they'll always have business.
@K3PLRLEAF Everyone else is in line with historical and industry norms. SpaceX is a bizarre outlier that has been a huge boon to the US/NASA/USSF for a while.
Musk wants to ramp Starship like crazy. I suspect this problem will solve itself... if SpaceX stays friendly with the government.
