@ken_kanekihaise@janwriter_ Low-to-mid. The point is, everyone needs to get off their high horse with this notion that Ateneo is some uniquely exalted institution and see themselves within the broader scope of the world. That perspective tends to humble you.
Major cheat code in life: Understanding you can reinvent yourself at any time. New habits, new standards, new friend group, new career, etc. There's no rule that says you have to stay the person you've always been. You're allowed to decide... "I'm done being this version of me."
Josh Brolin nailed sobriety in one powerful line.
He loved drinking — called it gasoline in his veins. But he made it his mission to make sobriety more fun than his wildest nights. He was even willing to lose his wife Kathryn to put sobriety first.
No more Jekyll and Hyde. No more getting banned from every bar. That version of him is gone.
This one hit me hard. Most people see sobriety as losing something. Brolin treated it like upgrading his entire life.
Real change happens when the new path feels more alive than the old one.
Have you found sobriety (or quitting any bad habit) can actually become more rewarding than before?
This woman has lost 260 pounds eating in a calorie deficit, and she’s sharing one of her go-to high-protein meals — Thai inspired beef summer rolls with a homemade peanut sauce.
Each roll comes in at about 225 calories and packs 33 grams of protein.
She cooks up a flavorful beef filling with carrots, green onions, garlic, lemongrass, and basil, then wraps it all up in rice paper with some fresh veggies. The real star might be the high-protein peanut sauce she makes using PB2 powdered peanut butter.
At the end, her husband tries one and it’s pretty clear he’s a big fan.
It’s a great example of how you can still enjoy flavorful, satisfying food while staying in a deficit.
Have you ever eaten in a calorie deficit? I’ve never tried it myself, but these spring rolls are actually making me want to give it a shot.
if you have a toddler, you learn that they generally dislike transitions. like they'll resist going to take a bath, and then they'll also resist getting out of the bath. then you realize that transitions just require energy and adults don't like them either
the reason Napoleon said, “a true man hates no one,” is bcz u can't hate something inferior to you. once u know most people are simply stupid, hatred disappears. u do not hate what is beneath u; u merely see it clearly. Superiority complex is truly a gift you can give yourself.
