I live solely for the taken aback reaction of adult men when I tell them I’m an engineering student like yes I’m wearing butterfly earrings and have star painted nails what does that have to do with anything
Here it is AGAIN. Same language @TorontoPolice are using - that the guy on the bike slammed into the opening door of a tow truck. No, you fucking morons - the driver opened the door into the path of the guy on the bike. And it’s illegal. Do something about it. Jesus Christ.
tired of the Canadian monopoly system for literally everything @A24 + Matt Johnson can we get Tony back at the Carlton and support our small time indie theatres pls
The Prime Minister was right to walk away from the negotiating table last night. I believe Canadians are united in this crucial moment, on this crucial point: no deal is better than a bad deal.
Accepting a deal that would lock in pointless, destructive tariffs and undermine our ability to regulate big tech would have been disastrous for our workers, industries and sovereignty. PM Carney read the room by rejecting the Americans’ offer.
Wab Kinew got it exactly right — the President is weak and cannot be trusted to abide by an agreement. We should stand firm, knowing it’s what the vast majority of Canadians want our government to do.
But what happens next matters. We are not out of this yet.
You can count on New Democrats to be a voice for swift and substantial aid to affected workers and industries. This is also a moment to rapidly transition to an economy that is more independent, that prioritizes housing, health, climate and the cost of living.
What brings us together and makes us strong is how we take care of each other in hard times. That’s the Canada the NDP will fight for in this crisis moment and those to come.
Justin Ling is right: “If Ottawa is getting ready to kill the Online News Act, it would complete the dismantling of Canada’s meagre effort to rein in Big Tech.”
The Tech oligarchs, the most powerful men in the world, are all lined up behind Trump.
Their attention-sucking platforms are in every part of our lives: distracting, surveilling, monetizing.
Their AI arms race threatens our communities, air, water, and jobs.
We cannot give up the power to regulate them.
No deal is better than a bad deal.
Real sign of our culture that all the boys from Girls get to be more famous than the girls from Girls. Put Allison Williams and Zosia Mamet in the MCU, you cowards!
Today’s decision is the result of a massive effort from the Ontario NDP, organizers on the ground, and the people of Toronto who said: No Jets TO.
It was collective power that made this issue impossible for the Carney government to ignore.
When we organize, we win!
canadians (specifically from ontario) will be like hey my province is on fucking fire and indigenous communities are quite literally being wiped out and americans will still find a way to make it about themselves
