.@SafiaMudhwahi , the wife of Dr. Ali Al-Madhwahi, who has been arbitrarily detained by the Houthis for more than 760 days, issued a heartfelt appeal calling for his immediate release, stressing that he remains imprisoned without any charges or legal basis.
She highlighted the profound psychological and humanitarian suffering endured by their family, noting that his prolonged detention has deprived their children of their father and caused severe emotional distress. She held the Houthi leadership fully responsible for this ongoing injustice.
Safia also emphasized that Dr. Al-Madhwahi dedicated many years of his life to serving his country and community, urging all those who value justice and human rights to stand in solidarity with him, amplify his case, and demand his unconditional release. She concluded by affirming that justice cannot be indefinitely delayed and that freedom is a fundamental right that must not be denied.

Street vendors in areas under Houthi control are no longer able to withstand the multiple levies and extortion fees imposed on them under various names, taxes, zakat, and sectarian occasions such as Ghadir Day, the Mawlid, Martyrs’ Day, and others.
With the worsening living conditions and declining purchasing power, these levies are becoming a burden that threatens the livelihoods of thousands of families. If this video indeed documents a protest against these practices, it reflects the extent of frustration and resentment among small street vendors.

Abdullah Shamsan Al-Akhali, a staff member of the @UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), died after months of living in severe fear and anxiety over the possibility of arrest, following Houthi-led campaigns targeting UN and international organization employees in Sana’a.
But what about his colleagues who remain in detention to this day? No one knows the true state of their physical or psychological health. Their families report that they are suffering from illnesses, being denied access to medical care, and cut off from the outside world, while some remain forcibly disappeared.
The United Nations’ silence has done little to dispel this ambiguity or reassure the families of detainees. How much longer will their fate remain unknown, as time passes and fears grow of another tragedy being repeated?

He was preparing for his wedding, just days after getting engaged, when the young man Akram Salah Mohammed Ahmed was released from a Houthi-run pretrial detention facility in Ibb, only to be taken out as a lifeless body.
According to eyewitnesses and local sources cited by @yemen_shabab Akram was transferred to Al-Thawra Hospital already deceased, with visible signs of injuries on his body, before his family was later informed of his death. His father reportedly could not withstand the shock and suffered a severe medical episode, after which he fell into a coma.
This latest death inside Houthi detention facilities calls for an independent and transparent investigation, accountability for those responsible, and an end to the ongoing abuses against detainees and the prevailing climate of impunity.

Every day, new stories and testimonies emerge publicly revealing serious violations attributed to leaders and members affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council in Aden. What is being circulated across media outlets and social media platforms reflects the scale of abuses that many victims have reportedly endured over recent years.
The recurrence of these incidents places a greater responsibility on local and international human rights organizations to monitor, document, and investigate, in order to ensure the truth is uncovered and that no individual proven to be involved escapes accountability.
Mazen Hazeb, a captain and commander of the Mansoura sector in Aden affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council, has been named in statements concerning serious allegations of abuse of authority and misconduct involving a minor and her family.
According to a statement by the victim’s mother, the incident reportedly began about a year ago when he visited their home asking about the head of the household. After being informed that the husband was absent, he later returned and took the husband along with a visiting relative. The family says the husband’s mobile phone was with them at the time.
The mother further says she was later interrogated alone in a vehicle and told that her husband was accused of drug trafficking, an allegation she denies, stating that he is a daily wage worker struggling to support the family.
She also says he requested to question their 17-year-old daughter alone, without her mother present. The eldest daughter, aged 19, was asked to hand over her phone, which she refused without an official warrant. The mother further says she observed an image of her younger daughter being transferred from her phone to his device.
According to the family, the minor said he expressed personal interest after seeing her photograph and allegedly threatened that refusal to comply would result in harm to her family members. The family also says a phone call was later made requesting her to meet him under coercive circumstances.
The family further says the husband was detained for 28 days before being released. They say they were later advised to relocate due to continued pressure. After moving, they say armed personnel affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council raided their new home, confiscated mobile phones, and detained family members for several hours.
These gross violations raise serious concerns under international human rights law, including abuse of authority, intimidation, arbitrary detention, and potential sexual exploitation involving a minor. These constitute grave violations of international human rights and humanitarian law and require urgent monitoring, documentation, and independent impartial investigation.
They underscore the urgent need for transparent investigative mechanisms, accountability, and due process within security institutions, particularly in contexts where armed groups exercise authority over civilians and where individuals in positions of power are implicated in serious abuses of authority and exploitation.

The Houthi group arrested engineer Amer Al-Aghbari in Sana’a on October 29, 2021.
Al-Aghbari is a former employee of the @USEmbassyYemen. and previously served as Director of the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) Office. He also worked for @UNICEF_Yemen
The following day, October 30, Houthi forces raided his home. According to his son, Abdulrahman, they seized Al-Aghbari’s vehicle, his daughter’s vehicle, and a number of personal identification and professional documents.
After a period of enforced disappearance, Al-Aghbari appeared on Houthi-controlled television channels, where he was shown confessing to charges widely described as fabricated. The broadcast triggered public outrage, with critics condemning what they viewed as the deliberate humiliation of detainees and the use of coercion to extract false confessions.
Among the allegations widely dismissed as implausible was a purported confession that he had “facilitated the introduction of agricultural pests, supplied highly toxic pesticides, damaged agricultural soil, spread animal diseases, and negatively affected bee populations.”

On October 25 of last year, Houthi forces raided the home of Hanan Al-Shaibani, a staff member in the Services and Protocol Unit of the World Food Programme @WFPYemen, and forcibly took her to an undisclosed location.

Simultaneously, another Houthi force raided the home of her colleague, Nasreen Al-Sharmani, who works in the Services and Travel Unit of the @WFPYemen, and detained her.
Al-Shaibani had recently undergone a premature delivery, and her newborn died only a few days after birth. She was arrested before she had recovered from childbirth, despite her fragile medical condition and recent bereavement. The arrest demonstrated a complete disregard for her exceptional health circumstances.
